I wasn't really SEEKING out one of these. I am a big fan of Slash and his playing, I think he is incredible!

A longtime friend of mine who lives near Chicago, from the Heritage Owners Club, had bought a Slash AFD husk from Stratosphere and assembled the guitar herself. She said the neck was just too big for her to get used to...so we met in Indiana today and i bought it from her!

I gotta say, I'm very impressed with the overall quality of this guitar.

The one thing that really surprised me was how thick they left the maple inside the control cavity...you HAVE TO use long shaft pots!!!

She used all top-notch parts.... Slash pickups, CTS pots, PIO caps, locking Hipshot open gear tuners, TONEPROS locking bridge and tailpiece and Switchcraft toggle/jack. Although, one of the pots is cutting out already!!!! (only a few months old) I've been having some quality issues with new CTS pots lately....has anyone else??

The neck is a BEEFY 50s carve...I LOVE THE FEEL...very close to the Heritage Custom Core necks. Its under 9 lbs. I was a little disappointed to see a 2-piece body...It's figured for a $3000 (new) LP, you would have a 1-piece body. Beautiful top and fretboard. It sets up EXTREEMLY WELL! Its PLEKED...it should!!! Tremendous tone!!

Would i pay $3000 for a new one, knowing what i know now? YES. ( i must admit that i feel much better paying what i paid though)

Whats the meaning of "Husk"?

"A longtime friend of mine who lives near Chicago, from the Heritage Owners Club, had bought a Slash AFD husk from Stratosphere and assembled the guitar herself."

It is a guitar that has had parts removed, but is still original and in good condition. Like buying a guitar without pickups and tuners, and you add your own.

Nice, love it! My buddy has one along with about 10 other guitars and that guitar is his number one ever since he bought it. I'll throw $500 down that it will be in the classifieds in 36 hours🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks brother.

I got a November Burst. Already have over $300 in extras..(Bare Knuckle Rebal Yells) and plan to put a Locking tail piece on it.
So if you catch a deal on a stripped Slash then thats a good bargain.

Basically the guitar with NOTHING ON IT.

NO tuners, pickups, pots, hardware, etc…

Great looking guitar. My 03 standard le needs the long shaft pots as well, which by this point have all been replaced by push pulls. Seem to really enjoy a push pull to lift the tone pots on a les Paul.

It’s hit or miss on the 2 piece body… some of the 2021 models and earlier have 1 piece bodies.

Nice looking top and color on that one.

I am going to pick up a November Rain soon, there's many on the market and some have ++++ tops. I've been patient to find the right one and more than likely would've bought that one if I had it showed up on my doorstep like what happened to you. It was a toss up at first to which one I liked better, the AFD or NR, but I decided on the NR.

Wildwoods usually have a good selection of Slash Lesters.
