My love surprised me with this Kramer Baretta that was waiting for me when we got back home from vacation. 😻 Funny, because I have been on the hunt forever for a "Lisa Frank-like 80s" guitar and personally always thought most animal print guitars were cheap looking, but this is actually perfect because it's not trying to look real and aligns with the colorful school supplies and posters that I have loved since I was little.

I def like the way the top mounted trem feels a bit better over my Charvel SoCal models, tbh. But feel like those would be better if I just bent the arms down a bit. The only downfall is it was supposed to have a D-tuna, but is nowhere to be found in the box or case. It feels too nice of a player to care enough to return it over that and gamble getting a bad one. Another interesting thing is it has no manufacturer country of origin on it or the box and I see conflicting MIJ vs MII on different sites. So, not sure if that's a year thing or not. 🤷‍♀️ The pickup is a zebra JB with push/pull coil split.

It's also only one of a few NGDs I returned home to.
I am drowning.
Yeesh, but also not yeesh...

I really like the neck profile Kramer is using. More rounded than Charvel’s and Jackson’s. Before I settled on the EVH I got, I was leaning heavily towards a used Baretta but not all came with the D-tuna. Throw in the stupid discount I got from that link you posted and I gave in to my fear of not having a neck pickup, it became an easy choice.
That one is probably made in Asia but not Japan. The Japanese ‘83 reissues are in the high teens $ I think.

Yeah, I'm not thinking it's MIJ mainly due to the FR1000 and just doesn't give off the vibe I would expect (not bad, just little things). Half the specs are incomplete or missing on listings, anyways. Intuition is what actually told me to pull on the knob for splitting since it's not on any spec sheet for whatever reason. I'll have to take some time with it and compare to the SoCals directly, but first impression is that I do like the neck feel and the sitting position a bit better than the Charvels, tbh. Just a little bit more relaxed feeling for me.

Nice. Congrats. You can add a D Tuna. 😊

Totes, and they aren't expensive enough for me to care to return it given it's setup and plays really well.
I could probably email Kramer/Gibson/whoever and ask for one.

Yes. Yes I do

This reminds me of elementary school so much I think I'm regressing

Same. I literally cried like a schoolgirl when I saw it.

So who gets to go on the back of that bad boy. Kirk Cameron, pre-born again freak out, Slater or Zach, Alex P Keaton or Jump Street Depp?

Also came across this when I found that leopard photo.
I'm not sure if I'm for or against the idea :ROFLMAO:
