Long story short, my old charvel 3dr i got in ‘88 has alway been my #1. Nothing special, stickers all over it, but sounded great and played like a million bucks. It finally got retired this last fall. Its pretty beat up at this point. So i got a prs custom22. Amazing guitar but not quite my thing. Then i got a custom 24 with a floyd and it was closer but i think im over floyds, but like how low they sit and familiar to my hand. So on the recommendation of a friend i bought a used mayones hydra, and so far its just killer. It kind of checks all my boxes. Cool top, natural back, slim neck, ebony board, my favorite pickups stock. Its kinda crazy how nice these are.

Just checked out some of the prices on Reverb - they better be crazy nice
to be fair, i sent an offer to the seller and he gave me a solid deal, and i got it slightly less than the prs custom22. but you aint wrong. they're not cheap...

congrats, great builder, beautiful guitars that should outlast us.

I love the Hydra, have owned a couple of Mayones as well. They make great guitars. Congratulations!

Dude that's freaking killer! Congrats
thanks man. youll have to try it sometime. it rings like a bell and has a real resonance to it. ..of course i have it in drop B playing deathmetal.... now im on the stupid amp hunt again..... you still dig the badlander?

Love that neck! I had a guitar with a Wenge neck w/ Bloodwood stripes exactly like yours. Damn I miss that thing.

Still loving it. It stays in the band room, so I only get to play it during practice, but it's always nice to be a little surprised by how good it sounds when I do.
