Yeah, one could end up on TLC Network's "My Stange Addiction". "I scour every music center within 500 miles smelling new LP's".I just got the same guitar. I open it sometimes with no intentions of playing it for just that reason.
Yeah, this one was $400 off. Brand new, factory-sealed.Congrats man! That looks amazing. I have a very soft spot for gold guitars. I saw one just like yours on blowout at a Sam Ash for 4th of July sale and almost pulled the trigger but I ended up buying an amp instead. I went back 3 days later to pick it up and it was gone. I regret not buying it when I had the chance. Life lesson right there. JUMP ON GREAT OPPORTUNITIES!
May I ask where you got it from? I'd love to find a standard or classic with the 60's neck. BTW nice score and guitar! If I ever get a Les Paul, I want either gold top like yours or tobacco burst.Yeah, this one was $400 off. Brand new, factory-sealed.
American Musical Supply. I sent a price-match for a price I got from Musician's Friend, (with a nice discount, but I'd never buy one from them anyway), and AMS beat it.May I ask where you got it from? It sounds beefy, almost farty. I went back to the SD-1 vs. the Fortin TS9 I was using with the SG and it was much tighter. However, I'm on the fence about the BB2 in the bridge. I've got a Duncan Custom I bought for another guitar I never used, and think it's going in the LP.Congratulations you can't go wrong with a Les Paul gold top standard, and for me that beefy neck is a huge plus I think it adds so much tone and sustain enjoy!
Yeah, me too. I want to be done with buying/selling shit come the new year. I'll do some mods to the LP, but I love it. Set it up beautifully and stupid low action no problem. Plays effortlessly.Congrats. I put a Detroiter in my Goldtop Classic and I’m really digging it. Hope this one brings you years of fun.
I'm trying to do the same. I have a Studio, Classic and Standard, an awesome Strat, and a Chubtone (and a few more). I'm good covering tones now and want to taper the spends. LolYeah, me too. I've never bonded with bbs either. I got a kirk Douglas sg a while ago and they sound better in it than any lp I've had but they still may have to go...It sounds beefy, almost farty. The ABR is going too. Hate that rattle trap and having to raise the tailpiece up a foot to keep the strings from laying on the back. I have a Graphtech ResoMax or a Tonepros I'll throw on it. Hate ABR's.
They're kinda bland. I messed with pole pieces and height, and found some clarity, sounds much better. But, the Duncan will ultimately go in at some point.I've never bonded with bbs either. Agree. I'd buy a years worth of those candles. To me it smells like Vanilla.I always try to describe that smell...it's like maple syrup and tobacco or something. It's intoxicating. They should make a candle called "New Les Paul"
