I know I'm generally known here for my unusual/poor/exquisite taste in guitars, but I am a Gibson girl at heart and always have been. Especially Explorers and SGs. My latest just arrived! While not unusual or special on it's own as a faded SG, this early 2000s model has been on my radar for years and I have always wanted one. See if you can tell what makes it different! An awesome bonus for me was that the description didn't say it came with a case, but showed up in a Gibson hard case! A few minor blems, but got her for a song. I don't know what it is about this era, but they always seem to be missing a knob insert or two.

Very nice, still have? Mine showed up with nice low action and decades worth of truss life left. Think it might be one piece body too as I don't see a seam on the bottom. Very happy to add to my collection!
I don't have it anymore unfortunately. Mine was a one piece as well. I sold it to a dude in Connecticut a couple years ago if that's where ya got it. Mine didn't have a hard case though

Nice guitar! Long time no see...been spending your time practicing?
When I'm not changing strings; practice makes perfect mediocre. Just finished co-developing a game soundtrack and currently working on another. Can't really divulge details about the first just yet, but will be seeking community input for the former soon. Finish your move up to New England(?), yet?

I think it came from PA, was my monthly MF/GC gamble.

I think it was worth the gamble. My SG standard is from around that time period too. Seems like all the SGs kicked ass around then
The "good wood" era I think it's called. I remember these when they were new, but I went with the Goth model at the time. I just realized this has an ABR-1, which I didn't previously know. Not a big deal to me personally, but surprising.

Yes ma'am, been up here a month.

My friend used to have one of these but it was a brown finish. It played and sounded great. I am not an SG guy but when you find one you really dig...they always seem to stand out.

Happy NGD!

Those inlays drew your attention, didn’t they?
You know it! Always on the lookout for the oddball models. Also have a Goth, a Pink 88 Elite, a Diablo, a modern, a 61 pelham ...the list goes on, but only one of them is a "regular" standard.

I saw a few in the brown, too. Not totally into them, tbh. I saw a white one once, but never again and not sure if it was factory white or refin. Seems like a good combo with the moons, though.

Do you mind adopting me? 😂

I love Rick Beato’s pelham blue LP. And I’m not even a solid color lover, more like a figured wood top connoisseur lol

I could never get into the SGs but I have no logical reason. That said I'm not really a Les Paul guy either.

I am super happy for you  enjoy her!
