NGD not an 8 string!

The "good wood" era I think it's called. I remember these when they were new, but I went with the Goth model at the time. I just realized this has an ABR-1, which I didn't previously know. Not a big deal to me personally, but surprising.
That’s the one I regret getting away. My goth sg had the best neck and action. Plus it just ripped. I have always wanted another. Or a goth v and explorer.

Dude, I have the whole goth collection! This SG is a bit closer to a 60s profile than the chunkier goth though. If you ever get into the market for another check out sellers in Japan, I see the goths pop up quite often for still somewhat reasonable prices.

I play 8 strings and SGS too. I do have Tele for Brad Paisley licks
Have a John 5 telecaster and recent NGD was a 7 string mutiscale telecaster thing. I funk'n love that thing!

Dammit don't tell people about the Japanese guitar market

My goth sg was super thin and flat….like an Ibanez…shred machine. I have owned a metric ton of gibson’s and have never had one play or sound like that one. I got a special one. And I got a Jim root squire tele and that thing is awesome. Can’t tell it’s a squire. Of course sdmf38 had it all set up and tweaked so….

I wonder if they did different neck profiles? Mine is a 99, my other goths all definitely have thinner necks which are one year apart from each other(00,01,02), so maybe it was just a first year thing?

Edit, my J5 is also a squier and I agree! I really love the clean look of the Jim Root model, too.
Edit again; backwards, SG is the 02, my others start in 99. Bleh.

I mean buying from Japan itself.
It's crazy how when I have ordered from Japan on a Friday the packages show up on monday. Peeps are on the ball!
Now I'm a few days into a GC order that still hasn't shipped yet :ROFLMAO:

Have you noticed how meticulous they are about packaging? I'm gonna be sweet and not mention any names, but some companies around these places look like your package was dropped in water.

Nice! I've always liked the SG; probably because of Angus, but never owned one myself.
With the title as "not an 8 string" I was expecting you to post a 10 string LOL!

I don't know what it is about them, but I have loved SGs since I was little.

Also, already have the 10 string base covered... ...for now.

The theme on that kind of reminds me of my Buckethead LP. Probably should unload it though since they're now like 10x the price I paid for mine and it just sits in the case. Kind of wish Gibson would do a few more 7 strings, but in extended scale. Used to have a white SG and a Flying V 7 string, and the 24.75" scale just doesn't work for that, imo. Sorry, just rambling on as usual :ROFLMAO:
