I am so stoked! After playing a friends a couple months ago, I've had bad prs gas.
Found a seller on reverb that lived a couple miles from me and agreed on a “I’ll pick it up on your porch” price. Its frggin’ gorgeous and plays amazing. Ive done nothing but change the strings so far.
Has anyone here just learned to love the pickups or change them out??
It has a hfs in the bridge and vintage(?) neck…
I don't hate them, but i do have a set of aged zebra bkp painkillers…

Congrats! Supposedly those newer looking HFS’s and Vintage Bass aren't too bad. Just keep in mind it will never sound like an LP, no matter what pickups you choose..Best to play it for a bit and maybe adjust amp settings before swapping pickups..

nope. im totally playing drop c death metal with it. i have a nmv marshall and a les paul. this is a pretty guitar for ugly music lol. trying to give the hfs's a shot though.

I couldn't get the pick ups out of my CE24 fast enough ..............

It took a while for my PRS pickups to grow on me, but they have a huge sound that just suits the guitar perfectly. I played in a 3 piece for a few years, with that as my main guitar through my D60 and it just filled in the mix beautifully.

I play metal mostly and I loved the pickups in my CE24, I would say give them a chance. Maybe raise them a touch, but it looks like you done already switched em out.

The are incredible guitars. The new ones to me are the best guitars/quality PRS has ever put out. I also love the 85/15 setup in mine. I forget how the HFS pups sound to be honest, but the 85/15 sounds like the greatest PAF ever made to me.

Yeah i already dropped a couple guitars off to be swapped out. I didnt HATE the hfs, but it was blurry and didnt have that immediate thwack like the bkp’s. The painkillers are an aged zebra set too, so they wont look out of place on that guitar.

They werent bad at all, its just this set has been my favorite metal pups ive ever had.

I just picked up an older custom 22 with rosewood neck. Great guitar
You can't tell us you have one with a rosewood neck and NOT show pictures. 👮‍♂️
@VESmedic I have the 85/15's in a hollow body II, they can do any type of tone well. I love them for metal in fact, Judas Priest on a hollow body never sounded so good. @mchn13 That's a nice looking piece of rosewood.

I am not usually a prs fan. This one has the wide thin neck, really is a amazing guitar
