Been eyeing these guitars up for a few months. I don't own anything with a floyd. In fact, I typically avoid them because I've never liked the feel and I have no idea how to set up and maintain a floyd.

I finally said fuck it and pulled the trigger. I really wanted the matte black w/ maple neck, but I also dug the lambo orange and found a great deal so I pulled the trigger.

When it came in, it had dead strings and needed a setup, badly. I figured out how to adjust the action and set up a floyd fairly quickly and actually got it nice and stable. The guitar seems to stay in tune better than my.fixed bridges with graphite nuts. Go figure.

I'm not an emg fan, but I'm REALLY liking these Retro 70's. Hot, but clear and a more dynamic feel. Like a real hot pad with a little more compression. No complaints with this thing so far!

How’s the neck? I played a Schecter CR-6 at Guitar Center yesterday and damn that was probably the best feeling neck I’ve had my hands on.

I really like these guitars! Only reason I don't own one is because I already have too many other guitars in this similar style, lol.

The CR-6 has thier Ultra-Thin C neck, and the Sun Valley Shredder guitars have their Thin C neck. So, they have a similar neck shape, but the SVSS is thicker overall.

My main player is a hard-tail Korean Schecter. Great guitars. I’ve been eyeing up that Sun Valley model for a while. That color is amazing! Congrats on the new toy!

That Ultra-Thin C feels awesome. I just want the neck. I’ll bolt it on one of my Teiscos!

It should stay in tune better. Tuning issues are almost always at the nut (graphite helps but only so much) or sometimes tuners. Significant room temp swings are the biggest issue because you might have to unclamp the nut to get it close enough for the fine tuners. My Floyd guitars stay in tune for a long time but if I relocate a Floyd from Madison Square Basement to upstairs I have to let it sit for a while and then do the unclamp-tune-reclamp-fine tune dance. It's a good 7*-8* warmer upstairs.

Is the Floyd floating or blocked? Way less of the issues above if blocked but that prevents pulling up and gentle vibrato isn't nearly as good.

Cool guitar!

I hope schecter make these with gotoh or hipshot tremolos in the future. I always liked these guitars.

I discovered Schecter's back in 2013. I grabbed the MIKorea PT and loved it so much, I grabbed 2 more. Then moved to USA PT's which are now my #1 for years. This brand gets overlooked a lot due to all the blink and crap they put on it for a few years.

Congrats on the new fiddle!

I recently got one of these in the green finish with the sustainiac system. They really are pretty remarkable for the price, I have no real complaint about the guitar at all.

I've been looking at the exact same guitar for a few months, planning on making it my first gear purchase of 2021. However, I'm not a Floyd user, and will probably block the trem if I get one. I love the color.

There is some variance in them. I have an orginal Banshee from about 2014 with that neck, and it is thin, but not super thin. I have a CR-6 from 2019 with the "same" neck, and it is like a paintstick, lol. MUCH thinner, even though they should be the same on paper.

I owned one of these, the Hot Rod Floyd is a great tremolo. I couldn’t deal with the 1 5/8 nut width and thin neck. I prefer wide/fat necks. Mine was a made Korea, great guitar for the money.

Yeah that honestly is what I figured. The floyd takes the nut which is usually the biggest problem out of the equation.

This one is a floater. I felt like I needed a trem of some sort in my line up and I should leave it as open to possibility as possible.
