Honestly this.

My first wah was a 535Q when I was like 16 and it just never worked out. I never used it and I gave it to a friend for free and he ended up not using it either and traded it in for a LovePedal SuperLead pedal at GC.

Not only until I tried a CAE was I convinced okay these are pretty damn good and I meed a wah. Easily probably the yeah amongst the best. If you ever find it not playing nice with a pedal after it like a FF or RAT or something an easy Mickey Mouse is just putting a buffer pedal right after the wah to rectify possible impedance/ohm issues.

A TS9 works well, Klones with buffers, some Boss buffers etc etc or whatever IME.

The Dimebag is dope too and my fave and can nail some vintage Vox tones as well but would have to say the CAE wah is just a cut above the grass in that regard and a step above still when dialed in and has a lot of mojo and swag.

I prefer the fulltone clyde deluxe personally, but the CAE would be number 2 and dime number 3 on my short list

It's insane how difficult it is to find a decent wah these days

You'd think with modern technology they would have figured out a million ways to do this, but apparently not

I've only owned a few wahs, a couple standard cb, a Dime, Slash, and a Wizard. The Wizard is my huckleberry.

Yeah the Clyde Deluxe is dope too and pretty sweet and I'd have to agree in a top 3 or top 2 for me. Personally my fave is the Dimebag and it won't get exact vintage Italian Wah tones but pretty good ones nonetheless and pretty close plus some other nice ones and the features do it for me. It's just amazing especially the latest iteration in black/grey camo is just fantastic and much better than the older green/brown camo.

Honestly yeah I mean the regular Wahs and even the 535 Q are a hit or miss and a bunch of others are too and it took me forever to find ones I'm happy with and would use.

Mainly it's about finding one with throttle and throw that is adequate and then if it's got bells and whistles then better but it's really the simple things like that, that are hard to find but once you find them it just makes you understand what about certain wahs you like and certain things you don't like.

In this sense probably a really great current production wah IMO that has all this and some bells and whistles is the Cry Baby Jr. I wouldn't call it a top 2 or top 3 but I would easily be able to rock one and was surprised, those things rock and they cost peanuts for what they do and the bypass on them is fantastic too. I think they are like a buck 30 new.

It just does a lot of things and it does them well for what it is and for the money and overall pretty quality. One I want to check out is the Buddy Guy as it has through hole components and would be a sick pedal on its own and a possible platform for mods too. But yeah tried the Crybaby Jr and honestly considering one too even though I'm more than happy with the Dimebag may get a Crybaby Jr or a Wylde Wah as I'm curios about those too but the Crybaby Jr was pretty amazing I have to say, simple and sounded top shelf.

Also for the nerds here is a guideline to the wahs and the different frequencies they hit on up or down toe/heel.

You may find you like certain ones based on that and once you find what you like it's a good guide and reference on your wah search and journey and helps you better understand why you like what you like, why you don't like other things and in general just offers a better understanding of wahs.

Same here bro'. Thing's as smooth as butta.

Gonna be relying on the Kemper wahs "moving forward" 'though.
Yeah to be fair I tried it again and it was great and was going to get one because they aren't half bad but ultimately went Dimebag current production. Also when I was 16 I probably just didn't have the skill to play one and was embarrassed to try one even in private, sort of like "only Hendrix" could do it mentality or a rock god

It was just too hard to use or try to understand how to use when I was younger tbh but when I got older I got the feel for it.

So I watched a video where this dude puts a mesa inductor or some $3.95 electronic part in his wah. Great. Was easy and sounds great on the video…. Noticeably different for the better. I go to order this three dollar part and then mesa was going to charge me like $25 for shipping. Yup…Gibson owns Mesa now. Or maybe Mesa is putting tariffs on customers. Anyway…I didn’t order it…

Here’s the video in case anyone is interested. Not sure if you can get this anywhere besides Mesa…. Sorry but I’m a noob with this electronic shit.

Honestly that sounds great and like a vintage Italian fasel or something but nicer..... love it ^_^

dang, just realized I just spewed about what I like, and didn't pay homage!!!. HNWD my friend!!!!
