It was just 2 weeks ago that the 1st recorded death occurred in Seattle. Seems much longer with the constant media pounding fear into everyone. I heard that Biden was taking contributions on some website for his Presidential campaign leveraging this pandemic. At least that's what the LSM reported in my neck of the woods. I wouldn't find this wrong if in fact he was donating 100% of it to help the human cause that we are all in together now. But that would be wishful thinking because he's a effen career politician and we all know that when a politician opens their filthy mouth, they're undoubtable lying to us in one form or another. If not, then does the man have no shame? He's already hoodwinked us with the China bullshit.

Okay people. Let's go now! :)

Swine Flu 10 years ago. 60 million Americans infected. 17,000 under age of 65 dead. 1800 children dead. Obama declared an emergency after 1000 dead. No media induced panic.

Kung Flu. 40 Americans dead. 70% of those fatalities from the same nursing home in Washington state. Unprecedented widespread media induced panic.

Facts.

Your stats are incorrect. No worries, that tends to happen with false equivalencies.

Care to point out some specifics?

I hear ya. With crazy scattered stats like them there old Mr. Willy'd be hotter than sun-screen at a nudist colony. :(

What’s incorrect about them? Wanna make some corrections? I think it was 12,000 that died from Swine Flu, rather than 17,000. How many Americans have died from this one? I realize it’s not over yet, but if it’s even remotely as close as the number that died from Swine Flu, then I’ll be the first to admit that I’m wrong here.

I’m not saying this current situation isn’t a big deal and that we shouldn’t take it seriously. But the response from the media compared between these two situations has been totally different. If anyone can’t see that, then they’re either partisan, indifferent, or a fool.

I’m not saying that this is a dem conspiracy either, but they sure are using it to their advantage. They’re happy that the stock market tanked. Joy Beyhar and Bill Marr both wanted a recession because it would be a political advantage for the left. Bottom line, do you remember a mass panic attacks over Swine Flu? No? That’s because there was no mass panic.

Correct.

I don’t work behind a desk....
I do not work in a factory......
I walk the streets. I go in buildings.
See more then 1000 people every day.
So ya I’m a fucking moron.

You dipshit, Dan.

I can't wait to see the reaction later today when I offer the usual hugs to the gals up at the shops. The "authorities" told us yesterday to practice social distancing. Don't hug, don't kiss, don't shake hands and maintain a distance of at least 1.5 metres. :gethim:

Poor minions / plebs / lackies / lemmings. God love 'em; they mean well. :dunno:

Aussie-stat update:
1 in 100 000 peeps now has the virus. Time to panic.

You are comparing stats summarizing the full life cycle of the swine flu to a current virus that is in its infancy stages in terms of outbreak. Apples to oranges. If you want apples to apples, then compare the two a year from now, or whenever a vaccine is developed and the final numbers are settled.

The 12,000 dead from swine is a final count looking back. Your US COVID-19 count of 40 was outdated an hour after you posted.

Fair enough. When this is all over, I’ll come back and make a more accurate comparison. What about the difference in how the media has covered swine flu compared to this one? Any difference?

Sure, anytime.

On a side note for some perspective:

"An estimated 1.1 million people in the United States were living with HIV in the U.S. at the end of 2016, the most recent year for which this information is available. About 14% (or 1 in 7) people living with HIV in the U.S. don't know it and so need testing. Early HIV diagnosis is crucial. Jan 16, 2020"

You're more likely to end up with getting full blown AIDES then a beer. 57 and counting I suppose is the most recent rally-tally. Try not to be too afro-so frigid. Otherwise I'm gonna have to Blast you with my new 1000W Amperor, in style.

While the death count is low. Still.....
No matter what.......
I is the docs and science are aware of this!
Not sure what else ‘Joe public’ can do??

You mean Joe Sixpack, don't you Dan?

Ahh... them was the days...

Is it that "prep" one the gays take as in insurance policy before doin' the nasty?

If so, my guess would logically be because it bolsters immune defences somewhat.

Funny you mention HIV. Can you please tell me why they have been using HIV drug treatment on this Coronavirus?
I believe somebody mentioned that if you put the lime in the coconut and call in feeling good going into work early in the morning and say Doctor, or is that simpin or sumpin?

Indeed he is!

Damned creative arithmeticians; they're a breed all of their own.

I think the main difference is the Media has been a dying thing for a number of years now, so they are doing just about anything they can to stay "relevant". The ultimate clickbait is fear .. also social media has moved a long way since 2009 so the ability for those platforms to "influence" has grown massively
