need one and need suggestions. i've been looking at cheap ones like the Donner SOPHGATE, The Donner Noise Killer, The TC Electronics Sentry. Any Suggestions would be GREAT!

The behringer is a copy of the boss….tc builds good stuff so hard to go wrong with them. Only one I personally ever owned was an isp which worked great btw.

I've had a Decimator, The Stereo Pro Rack G & A Boss NS-2. All of which were stolen YEARS ago. Now i'm playing a 5153 50 watt and just want something simple & cheap as i don't play as much as i used to.

I’ve heard the Joyo gate is supposed to be good and cheap, but haven’t tried one myself. I had a Donner Sophgate and it was ok, but not as good as other gates I’ve had, but it was cheaper

I’ve been running the ISP Decimate first in the loop on my board for a couple years now. All gates will impact your tone but this one has minimal impact and works well.

I use mine first in line, in front of my amps. Does a great job; I take it out of the circuit and the tone doesn't change at all to my ears.

I’m running mine in the loop to kill amp hiss; otherwise my rig is quite given that I’m a BE and MKIV with high gain settings.

It doesn’t impact my tone a ton but I do notice a small difference in the mids. It’s nothing I can’t EQ around.

I have been interested in the Zuul but I’ve read differing reviews.

The Sentry is a lot better than the Decimator. I used to have one and it was kinda horrible. The Sentry works great.

I need an ns2 or like.....need something for up front and the loop. Any other ones besides the boss that can be run like that?

Mooer Noise Killer for cheap; works.

I use the NG in my Source Audio EQ2, also has a Limiter.

I have the Donner Noise Killer, and it's a simple gate, that does it's job taming my ENGL Invader 2.
Nothing Special.

I also have the REVV G8, and it is a SUPERB gate, that works best in 4 Cable Method.
No Tone Suck at all. Best gate I've ever used.

The LWA endless blockade/Tannhauser is the best I've used

Best value for money is probably the ISP decimate, the decimator is good too

Most overrated is probably the zuul, the donner and mooer aren't terrible but aren't great, probably fine if you just need a general hiss reduction and don't want to spend a ton of money - if you're running a complex rig though, they arent going to be enough

I've been using a Fortin Zuul for several years, and it's worked great for me. Keys off the signal coming from my guitar, but gates in the loop. It's a pricier option, but I think the Zuul is one of several pedals designed around the 4301/4305 chip, so you can probably find a similar pedal with the same tech for less $$.

where's Wayne at? does he build a gate? WAYNE!!!!!!
I currently do not have a gate in my " portfolio " ...... sorry .....

I could bang one out in a few weeks ..... but I have to know or think I can sell at least 10 of them for me to do a run .

and they would be at least 100 smackeroos plus shipping

I use a deadweald golem which is basically a two channel noise gate. One channel has one know the other has 3 that you can dial in a little more. I've used the NS-2, Zuul, and now this and it's my favorite although it isn't cheap I think it's 150 -175. Noise gates are something I don't want to fight with. The NS-2 was always tone sucking or cutting off notes. The zuul has this one knob and only about 20 percent of it is useful.
