I wrap 2-3 loops of bare stranded wire around the screw and then sink this in the control cavity. I use heavier gauge than for the other pickup and control connections and run it to the back of my volume knob for 1 clean, strong solder connection to the pot. Now I have a couple of nice open spots to connect my pickup grounds and bridge ground without tacking everything to the back of the pot.
