Northern Gaza Is Now A MOONSCAPE!

Ruger ( and Taurus for that matter) make good revolvers. I dislike their semi autos because they have a high rate of failure.

Okay, so I see Tanfoglio is making CZ clones ( like everyone else). Haven't handled one. The only Tanfoglios I ever even heard of were the early ones imported in pieces and assembled in a few places in the US, mostly Florida. And they were very low end. Like Hi Point low end. I wasn't aware of these race guns. So having never heard of these or handled them I can't really make a fair statement about their quality. I do know that people pay stupid money for blinged out race guns that most likely aren't that great. If they were Rob Leatham and serious shooters would be using them.
I personally wouldn't buy a Taurus revolver. I really wouldn't buy Taurus at all if possible. I do like Ruger revolvers.

Tanfoglio isn't making CZ clones, CZ made the Shadow II to compete against the Tanfog's better. Both companies have borrowed ideas from each other to improve the weapons. Some of them are running 5k with all the goodies, fully factory tuned to race. And they are a premium race gun. Plenty of serious shooters are using them, you just didnt' have any awareness of it until now.

White man givem Tanto good work. All Tanto have to do is takum in rectum. Tanto thinkum job fucking awesome. Public safety important to Tanto.

My employer doesn't treat me like a fuck boy. My job is fucking awesome. If I cared to tell you about it you would understand. At any rate, they were under immense pressure, being a semi public entity, to "Insure the safety of the public", i.e. our customers.

And coward? More words that don't mean shit. And words I promise you would never say to my face.
What happened to you is a prime example of being treated like a fuckboy. If you would've just held the line like a man they probably would've let it go because after the insanity died down a lot of employers changed those requirements, realizing they would be left without a third of their staff or more. NEVER knuckle under to a demand like that. Ok, you aren't a coward you just made a shit decision in a moment of weakness. Are you happy now? I hope you learned your lesson. I think you have.

I have a Taurus model 44 ( 8.38") that I bought about 30 years ago. It's been flawless for thousands of rounds and taken many white tail. Would I buy one now ? I don't know. Raging Hunter looks ok, but I'd sooner buy a Python or Anaconda. I have several Ruger revolvers, all very nice. And some Smiths. As for Ruger semi autos, meh. Pedestrian at best. Taurus semi autos ? Until recently they all had plastic RSAs and I have worked on several with low round counts. I don't think any of them are going to run flawless for thousands of rounds.

Like I said, I would probably have done it anyway. Elderly parents I take care of, both with medical issues, it seemed like the right choice at the time.

Some of the big bore Taurus' are good guns. I was more talking about the cheap snubnose model 85's and such that are bottom of the barrel budget guns that are notorious for failure.

You shouldn't have done it at all. You know this somewhere inside of you.

Anyways, I'm stepping out for a while. Catch you later.

Kudos for looking after your folks but I'm curious how did it seem like a good choice? Did you investigate the history of coronavirus vaccines or the "Novel" mrna tech, not to mention the actual threat of covid, etc.?

Wife and sister had the vax. They had no issues. Doctor said it would help. The old man has beat cancer twice and breathes through a hole in his neck. Last time he got a cold he ended up in the hospital. He's 83 years old now and sliding into dementia. I'd rather not be the reason he died. Mom has emphysema. 80 years old. Rather not be the reason she died.

Dude, even the big ones are budget guns. That .44 has a comped barrel and you can comfortably shoot it one handed all day long. No scope and consistently hits 6" gong at 100 yards. Perfect for deer. I think I paid $300 for it new. I paid around $500 for the Super Blackhawk 10" around the same time and it's a great pistol. Kicks like a bastard.

Like I said, I doubt I would buy another one. I shot a buddy's S&W .500 a few weeks ago. Wouldn't mind one of those.

"The "GT" lines of pistols was founded 1962.[2] The pistol was widely exported under a variety of brand labels, including Titan and Targa.[1][2] Following the Gun Control Act of 1968 in the United States, which limited imports of compact foreign pistols, GT27 parts were imported and assembled, by Excam, Inc. of Hialeah Florida[3] and later F.I.E of Hialeah Florida, onto cheaper Zamak frames cast in the United States, replacing the earlier steel frames.[1]

These hybrid import models where in production until 1990 when all models were discontinued. These hybrid models may be referred to as F.I.E.Titan E27, Excam GT27, Italy Titan, Tanfoglio GT27, GT Targa, Titan Twenty Five or variances thereof. Beyond the Zamak frame, these models are substantially the same firearm as the original all steel Tanfoglio GT27."

These are the only Tanfoglios I have ever seen and they are horrible.
They apparently did start out making CZ75 clones and they manufactured a lot of the parts for the IMI CZ75 clone the Jericho, which allowed the Israelis to quickly produce them and skirt government contract rules since some of the parts were manufactured by IMI. The Jericho is a good gun. The CZ75 is a good gun.

Check out the Stock 2 Extreme and other similar models. Factory race guns. Def not cheaply made imports. CZ's and Tanfog's are some of my favorite pistols.

Mostly a training/range junkie. Lots of cop and military pals. They got me addicted.

I do have one so-called "Race gun". Walther PPQ Q5 Match w/ Vortex Venom. Fantastic trigger and very accurate. I might have put 4 boxes through it in the 5 or so years I've had it. Came with all the plates and I have about 7 17rd mags and a Walther Blue, Comp Tac International. At the time I considered competitive shooting, but I really don't have the time. I take one or two classes a month and I'm on the range a couple times a week as it is. Ammo bill is outrageous.

Sport shooting is out of my price range on a musician's budget. Ammo cost and range fees to shoot at often times very lame ranges pretty much bar the way. I bought some acres so I could shoot when I wanted, how I wanted. More acres would be nice then I could have a 200-300 yard rifle range and a run and gun area. Right now I just have about 100 yards to my backstop and I go in the back closer to it for pistols. I mostly shoot pistols. My property is kind of long and narrow so not much run and gun space.

It's nice to be able to proof test a load without having to make a trip across town and pay a range fee just so you can pull the trigger and look for signs of over pressure. It's been a few years since I had my reloading bench set up. Lately I been dragging my feet on that and just buying 9mm instead. I need a mold for casting....

My club is 8 miles away. Outdoors, 15 shotgun courses/ranges, 12-250 yd. pistol and rifle ranges, furnished lodge, target houses with sleds and spotting scopes. 700 acres of turkey and deer hunting spread among 2 properties. Membership is free for me ( I do all the welding and work on some stuff for the old man) and I have the run of the place. Night time NV/thermal, the works.

For function or load testing I just step out of my shop in my back yard. I don't have a lot of ground, but I'm in the middle of nowhere and can do as I please.

Sounds like a good gun club and the best part is it's close to home. I got tired of city living. 40 minutes to the gun club, $15-20 an hour for range fees, a 50 yard max range, and being surrounded by people I wouldn't necessarily trust with a gun shooting in the next lane. Muzzle sweep central. And of course no handloaded ammo.

Or there was the other club, outdoors, $15 or $20 for the day and no rapid fires. 2 seconds between shots, pretty lame. 100 yard max. I never been to it but up in Austin off 35 there is a large indoor range and the place is packed out every weekend. I can't imagine trying to get in there to shoot a few pistols. Instead I got the woods. I have some steel targets a buddy made me I just been too lazy to set them up, haha.

I'm not sure I would want to be at a gun range with people from Austin.

I don't do public ranges. Or hunt on public ground.

I found a big ass piece of 3/8" steel. Very hard. Harder than AR500. I cut about 20 gongs and snowman sillouhettes out of it with a plasma cutter. Then welded up a bunch of T posts with a piece of bar stock off the top and chains. At the range I sunk a bunch of 12" lengths of galvanized fence post in concrete, then I weld slightly smaller ( O/D) 6" on the bottom of the T posts. That way you just drop the T posts in the buried pipe. Then I made a bunch of T posts stands with 24"x 36" U channel to put drop ceiling tile in to tack standard targets to. That's why my membership is free.

It's very primitive. No range officers or dumbass rules. 90% of the time unless there's a class going on I am the only one there. Or me and some pals. My buddy Dr. Dave has all the full auto and NV gear you can imagine. When we "Rent" the place out ( I say rent, we don't have to pay, but we do close the big range for our exclusive use, often at night) We put shit all over the place. Half frozen 5 gallon water bottles, tanerite, whatever. I also built a bunch of portable barriers to use as simulated cover. Pallets, door frames. Lots of shotgun stuff.

Anyway, I feel ya. Public ranges suck. It's nice you have your own ground to do as you please.
