Wheatstone bridge commonly was used in the oxygen analyzers I worked with in the early days of my career.

Forgot 99% of my College Electronics and Instrumentation courses. They were cool due do a great Prof.....guy actually pissed on an electric fence in a dare as a kid....never forget ghat lab class.
My specialty, when I was in the field, or in the lab, dealt more with strain gauges.

I worked in material testing. I built, serviced and certified many types of sensors and complete systems. My facility was the standards lab that certified for others. Our main focus was on tensile/compression testing, as well as all the many types of hardness testing.

Extensometers measure strain, yield, and elasticity while under tension. Along with the other sensors and data.
