Nuno whipping up on Tremonti playing a PRS

Never saw this Johnson clip

Cool Vai

I don't know if this is a dumb question or not, but why isn't nuno playing a washburn? Did he just grab one of Tremonti's guitars?

He gets my respect for even letting Nuno get onstage!

No kidding, I am sure some guts were twisting for a bit there.

Agreed on the Nuno/Tremonti comments. Takes balls to let that guy up there with you.

On a side note, Vai rules. Opening doesn't really fit a blues festival but he has complete command over his guitar.

Huh? Tremonti didn't get whipped... They are both unbelievable players.

Correction: both Nuno *and* Myles whipped Tremonti HARD.

if it was, Nuno drops it down pretty hard at the end

Hell i'd take Myles' voice and guitar skills over Nuno/Tremonti's any day.

That said all 3 are excellent musicians with killer chops and different styles.

I love the way Vai throws his pick at the tech guy .. " hey turn on my Poser Fan "

I have always liked Eric Johnson, but his tone is pretty shit in that clip!

Ej lead tone is terrible. It has been like this for 10 years. Ah Via Musicom was forever ago. That's the tone I loved. I don't get what he's after lately. Clean tone is still pretty good I guess but anything else awful

Cool stuff. Guys, all three of these players can whip 95% of the players here.  Tremonti isn't even going all out here anyway. He is quite an accomplished player. IMO though, Myles actually had the best tone and feel going on.
Listen to the first half of the "Blackbird" solo. That's all Myles. Tasty player!

I dug the other guys playing...really good vocals, too; does Tremonti usually handle "lead" duties, or the othe cat?

As far as Nuno goes, he was invited up on stage.......it's poor form to melt your buddy's face at his gig

Exactly, Nuno showed class and just went with the flow. He chose not to go Jack Butler on them

Listening to Nuno is pretty demoralizing

Myles and Mark share lead duties. Usually Myles is playing the more melodic, bluesy stuff.

I love the amount of control EJ has while he's playing. Not a lot of "missed" notes or lines. Also, even though the lead tone wasn't what everybody liked or appreciated, he doesn't have near the amount of gain in his signal as the other guys do... that and the clarity and execution gets me. I did shake his hand once at a guitar signing, it was a cold fishy one. :gay:
