Not sure I mentioned about me and my bro headlessdeadguy trading pedals the other day or not. I got the Mxr super duder badass distortion as part of a deal and was talking to mike when he said he was interested in it. So I checked it to see if it worked and wiped it down and sent it to him. Anyway we got to talking and I mentioned getting another vibe and he was like hold my beer…boom…sent me a shaky Jimi vibe. How awesome is that ? Anyway I tried it out and like it. Saw a couple videos about the black tape mod so I just finished doing that. Hopefully it will work. Sounds great as is but by isolating the leds from each other makes it deeper and gives you more throb…pure win. I will let you know when I fire it up. Anyway…here it is-

Back when I was on a Robin Trower kick, I found one of these in a pawnshop for dirt cheap. I picked it up thinking I could cop that "Bridge of Sighs" kinda vibe, and I don't think it's ever worked right. I got it cheap enough that I didn't even bother taking it back and ended up getting a Fulltone Deja vibe eventually. This thing has just sit on my guitar working table because I used it to hold 1/4" plugs while I was making cables. :ROFLMAO:

Would have liked to have heard it actually functioning though, it's a cool looking pedal for sure.
 
It sounds pretty good. If tape isolating the LEDs makes it better then it is a bonus… plenty good enough stock….
 
I may have to plug mine in and see what's up again. I can't really remember what the issue with it was. I remember it would pass sound, but I don't think moving the rate/depth knobs would make any difference. IIRC, I tried the black tape mod on mine thinking that might help but didn't change anything. That being said, I don't think it was working right to begin with so you'll probably have better luck.
 
Okay… little bit of black electrical tape turned a good vibe into a pretty darn good vibe. Surprisingly it is more deeper sounding and it seems to hit harder on the warble if that makes sense. Honestly even though it has been quite a few years I can’t see how the Deja vibe is better than this. I’m pretty happy with it. Especially with a little dirt from Wayne’s rat pedal…pretty bitching sounds…
