Could you give me the dimensions of the speaker cabinet? I have some road cases for 1960A cabs and just wondered if it would fit.

Hi Brad:

Any progress update to pass along? Is the first run still on track to ship by end of June?

Thanks!

Hey Guys,

We have run into some snags and I am working through them now. The good news is we have all of the parts less the new chassis and the front and rare plates. As soon as those are sourced and we finalize the details with our manufacturing partner we will start the production and start shipping amps. Hope to have the first ones built and on the way in July sometime. I realize this is a small delay but rest assured I and Rob are doing everything we can to speed this along and the end product will be worth it.

Brad

Hey Guys,

Been getting a few PMs and I understand that as I thought we would start to be shipping around now. Lots of challenges with this project as you could expect, more than I put on the street but I will get us there, my word is good and I will keep you in the loop as we go. Hopefully July we can start shipping units.

manufacturing partners suck when it results in a situation that is out of your control :gethim:

although, not always a valid excuse to the end-user, but one you got to cope with these days. hopefully the Cameron spell can be broken. everything surrounding this man's amps turns into a goat fuck for some reason. i know you guys are working hard at it, though.

persevere

I have to disagree about production partners not being an excuse bro, I have ZERO interest in the amp itself but from speaking with many builders with their own lines in today's economic climate you have no clue what can happen. Custom parts can take months, chassis's punched wrong, etc. If you miss a production run you could be waiting months for the next.

The customer has to believe in who he is working with and be patient.

Plus I doubt any of the pre-orders are going on any world tours so they have time to wait.

Agreed.......the key word being "always" though. Machine shops can either be on top of their game or be about as reliable as sheet rock hangers and tattoo artists. They have their own schedule

Question: Are the new CCV's going to be gooped? If so, can you help me understand why? The major manufacturers and most other boutique builders and modders do not feel it necessary to deface a perfectly good PCB with goop. If someone wants to copy the circuit, they'll find a way regardless.

^the Cameron made CCVs were not gooped. At least the one I had wasn't. So I don't see why these would be.

Actually, there is a better solution. Build the amps first on your own dime and then sell them. That is what I'm doing. Then manufacturing partners, custom parts, chassis's punched wrong etc. don't matter. When you have amps, you sell them... This is just my approach...

Edit - it occurs to me that this may seem like an indictment of the approach Brad has taken with Cameron Amps. That is not what I'm saying at all. The approach I've suggested is "better" for me, because I'd rather not have people who have paid a downpayment calling/emailing/texting me constantly asking me about delivery dates that are difficult (at best) to estimate and control. I'd just rather sell something that I have. This is just my thoughts and approach and many amp guys take the approach that Cameron Amps has taken. Nothing wrong with that - just another approach with its own pros and cons...

No reason to. Most of the components were on the underside of the board.

That makes me a happy camper. Thanks Brad.

I would encase a removable board that could be replaced by any tech with enough epoxy it would take explosives to remove, one for one swap. I would also engineer "faults" in the circuit to weed out the cocksuckers on this forum that enjoy taking pictures and showing them to "builders" and watch them fumble in the dark.

People that know anything would not have any issue with that, bank on it.

I think going throught that much trouble would be time consuming and not worth it, if someone wants to see the design or clone it they will , after all these are guitar amplifiers not space stations. In fact , gooping just makes people more curious and determined to have a look where normally they could give a fuck.

I was a Navy C level Micro Mini certified repair tech that worked on electronics that were classified..........................it is minimal work to protect your design. Very easy to construct and near impossible to remove. A caveman could do it.

Think a pitch black solid block....................how are you going to know when to stop before damage ;)

Yeah designs are common these days but there are still some secrets......................

Hope we can get a round one update soon. Know brad is working on it. Just trying to manage my own expectations

Fair enough, after several toe stubbing sessions and general WTF's how come they didnt send what we ordered

We are slated to start the round one production in July. I believe board stuffing starts after the 4th of July and with no major hiccups we hope we can start shipping in July. Please take that with a grain of salt because I have learned very quickly is this amp biz that anything can happen and you deal with more than your share of flakes in the component and metal supply business.

I sincerely appreciate the wide berth and leeway you guys are giving me and Rob here and know that it is has our full daily attention and we will deliver these amps.
