I played the small headshell 50 Watt 5150 III for a while yesterday. It sounds very good. I actually liked the tone better than the 100 watt version. It does have three channels. Channels one and two have a shared EQ and there is only one master presence controlling all three channels. All other features are the same as the 100 watt version with the exception of a headphone out in the back of the amp....looked like two 6L6's in there as well.
I heard the YJM for about 5 min yesterday. I thought it sounded much better than the AFD amp....going back to listen more today. The headshell on the YJM is very thick from front to back....like an old Marshall Major.
I will have to say that the only thing that pissed me off was overhearing the Marshall folks disrespecting Yngwie. They were telling their retail customers to not sorry about the fact that it's an Yngwie sig amp and that it looks like a stock plexi...blah blah blah. They kiss Slash's ass till no end and talk shit about YJM. Not cool at all IMHO...
Please post all of the NAMM Pictures in this stick thread so users can find all the pictures in one place. I will be uploading pics here today as well.
If the price is lower, I think the 5150 III Mini is going to go over like gangbusters; probably the best non-vintage-inspired amp under Fender's umbrella.
I hadn't purchased my Egnater modular rig (which I'm sure will still run rings around this), I'd be all over it.
