That was really cool! Ola is much more personable than a lot of these other YouTubers, and I think that contributes largely to his success.

Yep. No heavy sociopath vibes no "I'm the expert" attitude. He also doesn't resort to silly gimmicks like wearing safety glasses and other protective equipment in his videos either. Seemed like he legitimately helped a dude with a few too many pedals get a base tone he can work with. Very nice.

Pretty insane that people need tone make overs? It's a fucking chug for God's sakes. How much of an idiot do you have to be to not know how to boost an amp or scoop some mids? I guess he's found some ideas to keep him relevant but this is just plain silly. He does have a mean right picking hand though, give him that.

Hey, most of us are idiots.

That being said,

Many people I play with will have a base tone that they make sound like crap. I have asked if I could tweak their settings while they played and would make it sound 10x better. No, most people do not know how to properly boost an amp or when NOT to scoop mids, etc.

Help the world make better tone, it helps us all.

Not everyone has had the benefit of good guidance or getting real world tips from someone who has spent time on a stage gigging in the real world. It's easy to take some stuff for granted if you have gigged and had teachers or social connections with knowledgeable insights. Dude is playing down in his basement and has nice gear but no real world tone skills.

I’ve always been very bad at dialling tone. Even more I often listen to demos and look at settings, or somewhat tone match to Kemper profiles in like.

I tend to get into the playing and I lose sense of tone and after 20 minutes whatever I’m playing sounds good to me. Listening back to a recording shows me it wasn’t.

Ok, jokes aside I guess I can understand that. I've always had a pretty good ear so maybe I just take it for granted.

But what is he going to do? Do a full series on making amps chug in basements and home offices? That's gonna get old quick. It's got to suck being a content creator. You can't take a day off, always have to be thinking about your next " like and subscribe, hit the notification bell"

Some of the most honest people I know have tattoos, smoke cigarettes, and curse like a sailor. I thought that was awesome. I've been playing 20 years, and would love to have Ola come over and dial in and play my rig. How fun would that be!!! The best part about owning gear, is having friends come over and drool over stuff when they play it! I'm tempted to enter, lol. :LOL:
