All of those guys I remember reading about or seeing stuff with mentioning their names in the East Coast Rocker..
But it was all up North :aww:
The Prophets or Edgar Cayce one of those 2 I only got to see them once at the Birch Hill forget at the moment which band..

The only local N.J. band to make a lasting impression or influence me was these guys..

Played a show with Nuclear Assault waaaaaay back in '91 and Dave DiPietro from TT Quick was playing guitar for them at the time. He was soooooo fucking badass and super nice as well. IMO, he made NA sound fresh as hell with his bluesy shredding. Dude was a total badass.

the early-to mid 80's metal bands were simply the BEST  ...loved TT Quick back then....in Chicago,we had Trouble,Zeotrope,Wrath,Master,Burnt Offering,etc,etc,etc....man,that was such a COOL time to be a teenager :D ...i wanna build a "time machine" and go back

Anybody remember Teeze or Roughhouse? I think they were from Philly but were always around the tristate area when I was in H.S. Also Duke was another. That was Greg Howe's band when he was a kid doing covers.

Wow, cool stuff! Unfortunately I don't rememebr them from back in the day. I think I was probabaly listening to Blondie and Flock of Seagulls back then. :aww:

Wow - this thread is really bringing back some memories!! Birch Hill, TT Quick, Edgar Cayce....

How many of you guys remember these bands...? Where did the time go? :aww:

The singer from this band now sings for Accept. The guitar player was a music teacher of Zakk Wylde...

Bought a guitar body from the guitar player in this band..

Bought one of my 4x12's from the guitar player in this band...

Took lessons from the guitar player in this band (so did Danyeo).

I was in a band for a short time called the Slum Lords with Ed from Explorer. And an old friend of mine who played bass joined them for a while in the mid 90's.

Some chick i hung around with married one of the guitar players in American Angel, or American Assholes as some called them   I remember talking to that girl at the Birch Hill and the guitar player walks up to us holding 2 drinks and giving me this dirty look.

And it was funny when GIT grads would come back home and go see Kenny Dubman or Dave D play, it was like ok, back to the drawing board.

Bluesy shredding is a good description of Kenny and Dave's styles. They were both monsters and both of them were better than Zakk Wylde IMHO.

And let's not forget Romeo from Symphany X who is from Perth Amboy. They practiced in Shrewsberry at Gear Rehearsal studio's. And what NJ metal/guitar discussion would be complete without mentioning Jack Frost. :D

Steve Brown from Trixter shouldn't be left off a thread about hard rock/metal bands from NJ. He is a great player, still around...

and Tony Bruno Ray from Saraya... another good one.

Wow, blast to the past. I had a cassette that I think I ordered out of Hit Parader or Circus   I remember Zakk talking about taking lessons from the guitarist in some of his early interviews.

I thought the new Accept singer seemed familar to me...good info
