Here’s a pic of me on stage in 1984 with my recently acquired ‘80 Gibson Jimmy Wallace’58RI “Proto “ LP

I had no idea Tim Henson played bass guitar.
He looks fantastic with long hair.
Like a Japanese Airwolf..
Remember that dude??
THE helicopter maverick of 80’s American television.
I’d keep that Les Paul off the pool deck edge btw.

I still have it and collected a few more Skylark models since then. In 2014 I had it rewired since the electronics were fried from years of abuse. It now has Hetset emgz in it. The guitar itself is a Matsumoku MIJ build... I love this guitar for riffing 🔥

Damn. We are about the same age, and in the mid to late 80s I had a damn Skylark guitar too - same shape but it was neck-through, transparent blue with fancy inlays and some active electronics with a boost. I've never really heard of, or seen another one and in fact have questioned my recollection at times that it actually said "SKYLARK" on the headstock, but there it is. I am vindicated (or somewhat sane) !

Circa 1989…..
This cheap “Charvette” was all I could afford. I had great amps though. This guitar plays and actually sounds killer. Old 80’s Duncan JB. I painted it at some point, but still have it.

Ah you had the blue one! That was the top of line model of the three for $339.95 lol. I've been looking for a blue one off an on. I have the middle one which is similar with the thru neck and some funky toggles n stuff and have two of the cheap ones, 1 stock and my beater with emgz.

Holy shit, there it is. In retrospect, that was a kick-ass guitar. Now that the somewhat rusty cogs of my brain are starting to churn, I believe I got rid of it because (obviously) it was a hard tail, and clearly I could not be bothered with such insanity when churning out mullet-infused hair metal riffs and dive bombs. I want it back! $339.95 LOL. At the time, I suppose, that might as well have been $10K.
