I liked him much better back in his pride and glory days when he was "Jefferey the credible guitarist", rather than the present "Jefferey the brootalz faux alcoholic biker." His earlier shit was much more impressive with the earlier Ozzy stuff, book of shadows, and pride and glory. He's been playing the same song since then.

It wouldn't be quite so pathetic if he didn't do that fake grab for the beer anytime he does a video interview. It looks like some fake and contrived hack bullshit. I think Sharron Ozbourne's got alot to do with that.

Exactly. NMT is a great recording with some very good playing/writing, but after that I think he went down hill.

I love the guy, hes one of my favorites for sure but these days, hes on autopilot as Ralphie likes to say. Hes still got all the talent and chops in the world but IMO, non stop touring and booze has dulled him and burned him out. He needs to take some serious time off from the road and the drinking, spend some time with his family and regain some perspective and fire.

Make no mistakes, Zakk is an incredible player who is his own worst enemy, He's more than capable of bringing the pain if he could pull his head out of his ass. Ive heard him play some incredibley beautiful musical stuff, he just needs some time off IMO

I agree, people here are dismissing his skills, putting Gillis and Jake E over him, which is just silly, he's technically superior to both those guys. Seems like a lot here think he's just a 1 dimensional player, but I've heard Zakk unleash some crazy shredding on an acoustic years ago, he's got serious talent...dig up his old stuff and give it a listen. Now he's just become this caricature that he created. The funny thing is he probably doesn't care, he's having fun, playing music he likes, making a good living, and has a huge following. Can't blame the guy for not wanting to appeal to the .01% tonefreaks and guitar shredheads that ride his ass.

I'd just wish he'd switch to Boogies, shave, and close his mouth during promo shots.
