George is one of the few guys who has gone to great lengths to get all the new parts to sounds right. The new amps will definitely not have the mojo factor of an old amp but they sure sound great!

That was the Metro amp into a hotplate and then a 4x12 with H30's. Tubescreamer infront boosting the front end!

All in all, I'm basically saying that Im glad that companies like Georges exist!!

Different but the catch is some of the metro guys built a Metro Kit to peacemaker specs and it sounded just like it!! There is lots of info over their and those guys took apart a lot of amps and they spread the info like no other place!!

Yep, the metro forum is a treasure chest of info. It really demystifies some things. The peacemaker is a good example...

I don't know guys, I'm kind of in the vintage camp. I've played a lot of clones, and there's something in the old amps that set them apart in feel and tone. Maybe it's the old transformers, maybe it's the type of caps they used, maybe it's a combination of a lot of things, I don't know. I gig with my '69, and in the future I'd like to get a 67 or 68 and I'll play them out too. Well maintained there's nothing for me to be scared of since my band only plays out 2 times a month or so on purpose. If I were playing more (2-3 times per weekend) I'd probably look into a clone of some type (Reinhardt, Germino, Metro etc)

A lot of these clones cost damn near as much as a Plexi (Mojave etc) and I'd rather spend the money on the old amp.
