All in all, I'm basically saying that Im glad that companies like Georges exist!!

It would be a bit silly for me to argue with that considering I actually have a box of parts from George here at my feet...lol.. :D

Ralph,
How did that Metro amp sound compared to your memories of how the Peacemaker sounded?
Different but the catch is some of the metro guys built a Metro Kit to peacemaker specs and it sounded just like it!! There is lots of info over their and those guys took apart a lot of amps and they spread the info like no other place!!

Yep, the metro forum is a treasure chest of info. It really demystifies some things. The peacemaker is a good example...

I don't know guys, I'm kind of in the vintage camp. I've played a lot of clones, and there's something in the old amps that set them apart in feel and tone. Maybe it's the old transformers, maybe it's the type of caps they used, maybe it's a combination of a lot of things, I don't know. I gig with my '69, and in the future I'd like to get a 67 or 68 and I'll play them out too. Well maintained there's nothing for me to be scared of since my band only plays out 2 times a month or so on purpose. If I were playing more (2-3 times per weekend) I'd probably look into a clone of some type (Reinhardt, Germino, Metro etc)

A lot of these clones cost damn near as much as a Plexi (Mojave etc) and I'd rather spend the money on the old amp.

Mark Cameron also showed us how to get the VH tone!!! Fuck do I love that guy!! (love you to Mr. Schmidt!_)

Bwahaha...splained it to me too, and described the look on the Metro guys faces when he showed them ;)

An even better tidbit....this amp thats being discussed here? Cameron actually worked on it...
