Get a VH4. There's plenty of great cabs out there, but only one VH4.

Go for another Diezel. Either the amp or the cab. You'll be upgrading in both ways, which is good news. Diezel K100 cab is absolutely crushing for me. Best would be to try and then buy. Whether it's a V30 or K100 cab is always down to a personal taste. One thing though - make sure it's a Diezel!

FWIW, Diezels become real Diezels when they're played through Diezel cabs. You may not know the truth of your Herbert till it's played through a Diezel 4x12 and yes, the FL-G12K100 model is to me, hands down the best 4x12 they make. I love 'em. I'd not know half of what these amps could do if they were played through something else. The closest I'd go outside of Diezel cabs is Mesa OS 4x12 with their in-house V30 drivers. But ultimately? I'd end up with a FL-4x12 G12K cab.

Thunder in a box.

Once you've got the cab covered, then pick up another head - easy to play either or any Diezel head through the G12K 4x12; but not so easy to play any Diezel head through another cab.

This!!! I have played my Diezels through many cabs but they really came to life playing through fl diesel cabs. I couldn't believe the difference the diesel cabs made!!!!!

Just a small update guys: I didn't purchase anything yet, but my decision is made, and delaying the purchase gave me a greater option. Currently I'm away for holidays but when I'm back in Germany (end of September) I will definitely be buying a mighty VH4 and a 4x12 Diezel cab (either v30 or K100). My decision is final and I can't wait !!! So excited !!!

I wouldn't entirely agree with that. Diezel make great cabs, no question, but there are a number of reputable cab-manufacturing companies that make quality cabinets, housing Vintage 30 speakers.
There is little audible difference between a Diezel, Zilla, Orange etc cabinet built to a similar construction specification, in my opinion.

Ill echo what a few people have already said. I recently got a Herbert after years of dreaming. I brought it to my singers studio where we rehearse and tried a few cabs out to see which I liked better. We tried roughly 7 cabinets and while they all sounded decent, I wasn't blown away yet. So after reading online about how the Diezel cabs are voiced properly, while I usually would just think of that as marketing, I decided to give it a shot. I found a Diezel 412 near by and brought it home. Hoooooooooooly crap - the difference in tone was instant. I dont know why, how or anything in between, but tonally it made the amp come alive and sound more 3D than before. I'm sure there are great cabinets out there that compare but if you have a chance to pick up a matching cab, do it. You won't regret it.

I guess the point is, different makers have slightly or substantially different constructions and construction matters a hell of a lot, even with the same exact speaker - even amongst all RL or FL. Off the top of my head, the best comparison I can link you for that is here, click the individual links or the first one to get all files in a ZIP.

Sure, ultimately it's personal preference and what part of your amp's character you want to accentuate or compliment!

Jimmy, dude. Let's cut the foreplay and just say it like it is. A half-stack with matching Diezel badges accounts for an increase in 20% "greaterer tone".

It's simple, and widely acknowledged as fact amongst musos and studio hounds.

Uncle Mo :salute:

I know I've said it a bunch of times already, but my D-Moll with the matching G12K cab is massive.

Would love to try a Herbie through it one day.
