Let us know how it goes steve :)
Also you guys should know I am wanting the best cab for bedroom levels so if you take that into account does it change any of your opinions? Also as anyone tried the framus cabs with the herbie?
Also on a seperate note, what difference do you get from angled vs straight cabs?
Thanks :)

Are you in Dubai? If so, I am only up the road from you and may have something to hook you up with.

Herbies sounds great through an over-sized Mesa Recto Cab (I have 3 of them)

I have to disagree on that. I had a over-sized Mesa Recto Cab before I bought my FL Diezel Cab (mixed speakers).
It cannot handle the uge bass of the Herbert, so I realy had to roll it back not to get muddy... The Diezel cab is much clearer and stays tighter

The guy that posed the question seemed to have been contemplating something other than a Diezel cab such as an Orange. Maybe the price tag was a little high for the Diezel and he was looking for a decent substitute. If he was going to settle for an Orange, he could as easy go for a Recto or any number of rear loaded 4x12 cabs. They do handle the bass by the way on the Herbie or any other high gain amp, but we will leave that conversation. The Bogner cab handles it well too. For the VH4, the Recto cab does sound like ass to me. For the Herbie and VH4, of which I own both, its a front loaded Diezel cab of any speaker combination that sounds best. Got two of them too.

So you see my friend, its all a matter of taste and variety.

Steve

Ok, I always forget that the prices change from area to area...

Here in Germany a new Recto Cab is even more expensive than a new Diezel Cab!

Hi

I run my Herbert with an Orange GTK100 4x12 cab.

My opinion about this: Sounds nice. Lots of bottom end. Really much bass. I directy compared it with a Marshall 1960 GTK75 4x12. The Marshall sounded much more brighter. And that's my problem. I use this stuff only in studio. Mostly with a Baritone guitar tuned to A. For live I prefer the Orange, in the mix I prefer the Marshall cab or everything else with lower bottom end.

I've also tried Engl and Diezel cabs with the Herbert. I would buy a Diezel FL if i would need a new cab.

Yes. It works good with a Cobra cab. That is the cab I used with my Herbster until I had the funds for a Diezel FL. The Cobra cab doesn't quite have the bottom end the Diezel cab has but it does sound very clear at moderate volumes and the bottom end is very tight, like the Diezel.

All I can say is when I quit using my Recto cab for the Herb and started using the Cobra cab, I felt like slapping myself for not trying the Cobra cab sooner. The Recto cab is nasty with a Herbert.

A VHT fatbottom cab works well with a Herbert too, if you don't mind the Herbert sounding a little bit....VHT ish....

Ok cool guys, really good to get all your advice. And hey Steve, I do live in Dubai and will be back there in a week, but my Herby is in the UK so unfortunately can't grab a cab. Which one are you offering though and where bout's in Dubai are you, would be cool to jam sometime (Though you're probably a lot better than me!)
Anyone care to enlighten me on the angled vs straight cab decision?
Thanks
