For sure, I tend to bounce back and fourth depending on how fried my ears are that day. Then I should be covered, thanks

I felt that way about Splawns.. they sound good but there is something about a certain frequency that got old to me quick.Couldn’t agree more. There was no way to turn off the “Cameron”
That is so true about ears being fried, some days nothing sounds great and I just know to stop playing that day.For sure, I tend to bounce back and fourth depending on how fried my ears are that day.
They do. The PT with an SD-1 is pissed off Marshall good.I really thought when I bought the Friedmans I wouldn't need to boost them, just plug in and rock.
Truth is I could, but the boost makes them sound better.
That is exactly how I would use it.Used a SD-1 with my PT2 at last night's gig. Gain switch in the middle on the amp with the SD-1 gain just bumped up a tad. Tone was spot on. SD-1 is one of the best value pedals imo. I just bought another used one last week as my Maxon 808 input jack crapped out. That pedal has been on my board for 12 years so need to get it fixed. SD-1 and Marshall amps as well as all the clones including Friedmans are the perfect match.
Pissed off Marshall is what I am after. They do. The PT with an SD-1 is pissed off Marshall good.
I have (2) of the Friedman Vintage Creamback 1x12's, and stack them.
I bought another PT V2 a couple months back, and UPS lost it! If I found another at the price I paid for that one used, I'd probably get it.
I LOVE gain. The SD-1 is pretty much a required must-have pedal for anyone who plays with gain.
That has been brought up to me before.I’d be real tempted to sell those mini heads and get a single larger model like the small box or be100. Larger power section and transformer can really help with the perceived tightness and response you may be trying to get from a pedal. Just a thought.
I sometimes wonder if that is because the voltage at our homes is particularly high that day making our amps not sound right. That is so true about ears being fried, some days nothing sounds great and I just know to stop playing that day.
If I had a tough day or did too much and am trying to squeeze in playing, nothing will sound right.I sometimes wonder if that is because the voltage at our homes is particularly high that day making our amps not sound right.
Ah, I'd love to read how you think they comapre when you get it, then. The TS808 mini is actually not nasally used as a gain boost, it is pretty transparent, but I am really looking forward to trying the SD1.

Just a little while ago today I was relaxed and played all 3 of my amps and everything sounded GREAT.
Holler at Wayne…. He will make you a bionic sd-1…bigger, faster, stronger….I have 3 Friedman amps, Little Sister, Pink Taco V2, and a JJ Jr.
Currently I use an Ibanez TS808 mini as a boost, I like the fact that it is True Bypass.
I run it it with the tone at noon, volume at 10 and gain at 0, it sounds great as a boost.
I have been hearing a lot of people use the Boss SD-1 with Marshalls so for $49 I figured I would order one and try it out.
I know it is a buffered pedal which I am not crazy about, but it is the only buffer in my chain, so I don't think it will affect much.
At most I use a wah, chorus, and the boost pedal.
Hoping it sounds good.
If it does it will either replace my TS808 or maybe it will work better for some stuff, at that point i will run both of them.

I will surely report back.Ah, I'd love to read how you think they comapre when you get it, then.
If I could get away with just plugging straight in I would love to do it.They're both great for different reasons. I used to be a huge boost always on guy. Now I rarely use them
And I can't explain the whole good tone/bad tone thing but it is real. I'd have to get a voltage regulator to be convinced otherwise.
