OT: I think I broke my freaking ribs!!!Just a few minutes ag

The way I understand the lung issue is that sometimes when you have a broken rib it can lead to pnumonia spelling likely wrong. Thats why they give you the pain killers to keep the lungs clear of fluids. You may go right through it with no problems. I am currently healing from another surfing injury to my shoulder that's been going on for 6 months or so. I should stick to guitar, less likely to get hurt.

Damn I was changing a light bulb from a chair like an asshole and I slipped/fell and hit my ribs on the chair back. I am in deep fuckin pain and its right over my heart too. What an idiot.................Im gonna try some ice.................John

You have got to stop doing stuff like that you madman! I have cracked a few ribs before and its not fun. If you still have a hard time breathing in a few day,s get your ass to the Doctors. Better safe then sorry bro! See you in a few weeks!

Hey John,

I've broken several ribs...it sucks, flat out.

One time, I heard the "pop" and couldn't get to the doctor's office right away...decided to wrap my chest up in an ace bandage. The doctor told me NOT to do that as you won't breath deeply and could actually run the risk of getting pneumonia. Pain killers are about all you can do for comfort...it sucks because as you now know, even sleeping hurts. Sneezing or coughing will bring on white flashes of pain.

take the pain meds if it hurts, I know why you dont want to, but if they're broken or cracked you need them \

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I am doing a bit better today since I have got a nights sleep and am staying reclined ALL day for a change.I have a couple of guitar repairs in my shop right now and as tempting as it is to get those things done and out, I need a day off to recoup a bit. There is always tomorrow
I got some bad news this morning. My second cousin Justin was killed in a car accident yesterday(Christmas of all days)morning. He was a fine young man and a gifted musician and will be missed by all that knew him. Please add his family to your prayers, this is going to be a very tough loss for them to get over............Thanks John

I had a fractured rib and it took months to heal, it was really a real pain in the ass, hurt no matter what I did...not fun.
Hope it doesn't take that long for you.
