I'm not interested in the slightest, but from a social media standpoint, it's amazing how many morons are out there excited for this.

Right! That’s how I feel about Slayer. No Jeff, no Slayer for me. Don’t get me wrong, Gary Holt is amazing, but I just can’t watch live footage since Jeff’s last show.
 
I don't know, if they called a something like "celebrating pantera" or something like that then why not.. but don't call it a reunion
 
Mega cringe. Leave the Pantera legacy alone. I always find that re-makes/tribute acts are obviously mailing it in for financial reasons. You can sense it in their performances.
 
too little too late, imo. they've been talking about this forever, but Grumpy, Stubborn, Ol Vinnie wanted nothing to do with Phil, and of course Rex trashed Vinnie pretty good in his book, so you know they weren't pals. Now that the gatekeeper is gone...

I saw phil and the illegals do a night of pantera songs in detroit a few years back (its on you tube). It was a blast, and they sounded killer. The energy in the venue was much higher than that of a cover band or something. people weren't going quite as bonkers as an old pantera show because the fans are all 20+ years older now, but it was still pretty electric in that place.

Totally agree. Jerry's sound and playing is a huge part, but his harmony BGV's are a big part of that sound as well and he still has that. I loved Layne, but love the new iteration of the band as well.
 
This is a terrible idea. Nothing against Phil or Rex but man this just seems like a money grab in the worst way
