Parametric EQ

All that being said, I wonder if a more analog para would yield improved tone? The EQ2 sounds great but I'm open to other paraEQ ideas

This has been my dilemma as well. I've tried a Boss EQ-200 and also used the EQ's in an FM9. Both of them were decent but created this sheen over my tone that started to bug me. There is a warmth to the analog EQ's that just appeals to me. My go to has been the MXR 10-band and I also have an Analogman GE-7. I recently picked up a Free the Tone PA-1Q and it's awesome for retaining the analog warmth plus being midi programmable.

I'd like to try an EQ2 or the Fractal VP4 but I'm afraid it will produce the same results. The Ibanez PTEQ ticks a lot of boxes and is priced reasonably.

I was using the EQ2 and got the PTEQ; both are great, but in terms of options and flexibility, I'm back to my EQ2, just the menu diving can get tedious but the Neuro 3 software editor eliminates that, and gives access to more parameters and settings. You just have to set those once, and can do most everything else on the pedal...it's only tedious because there are many options if you go deep

I definitely like it.

I use the empress para eq 2 deluxe. It’s transparent, quiet and makes everything I run through it sound better.
