Anyone else like these? I played a white one last weekend and I thought it was great. Neck through, 24 frets, mahogany body and neck, ebony fretboard.

I would love some more info on these!!!!!!

I saw them allover e-gay when i was searching for an explorer. i just dismissed them as garbage. never spec'd them out. all mahogany, ebony board!!!! neck through. what pups? or are they garbage stock?. I assume they are stamped out over in korea somewhere like dean and schecter?? still, if they are a good deal. are there different level models or just cheapies?

They have other models too, with a tremelo and no abalone binding. This model comes in black and white only. Other models are natural finish and sunburst, with chrome hardware, the lowest level model has a bolt on neck, etc.
Korean made, the pickups are stock, but are overwound ceramic's.
An upgrade would make this guitar even more killer.
Quality wise, I would rank this guitar as equal to the LTD 1000 series. At $750 for this particular model, plus a pickup swap, you're still below $999.

equal to the LTD 1000's.....wow, thats a fucking endorsement. (at least i think so) those are some killer ltd's.

so if i'm looking for the most expensive one with a fixed, what is the model name or number?

That would be the Peavey Rotor EXP. Priced at $749

Also in black,

the exp and ex both have rosewood boards according to peavey.com

I've seen it claimed as both on various sites. Some also have a "Limited Edition" inlay at the 12th fret??? Somes pics actually look like both rw and eb. I can't remember what it was on the one I played the day. It did have the inlay though.

What does the signature on head say? I just acquired a black one for 100 bux!!!

I've watched off and on for years for a neck-thru with floyd and haven't scored one yet.

Think maybe they quit making the neck-thru for awhile, or for damn sure the one with a floyd.

There are two types the EX and and the limited edition EXP. Both of the headstocks say EXP. I can only assume they did this to save money. The EXP is the neck thru with no inlays except one at the 12th fret saying limited edition, you can not get this with the Floyd Rose.(perhaps due to the string thru body style???) The EX is the bolt on neck, block inlays, and Floyd, and was a cheaper price (no clue on the woods). I have never played an EX, but the EXP is a good guitar for the price range. I bought mine for a back up guitar and replaced everything with EMG X's,. Unfortunately I never bonded with it well. The scale length was a little odd to me, not a fan of 6 in-line tuners. And didnt like the neck with no inlays. But if you are familiar with the Explorer body style and like that I am sure you will enjoy it. Mine is actually for sale on egay at the moment. (if interested PM me I can work with you) I got bored with an all white guitar so bought a decal for it and fret stickers to match since I didnt like the no inlays

Sick axe dude^^^ That's the exact model and color I almost bought. Wanted to load it with an EMG 85 in the bridge and an 81 in the neck.

Yes I loaded it with a 81x in the bridge and a 60X in the Neck. I never really bonded it with it though I prefer my Les Paul body style and 3 & 3 headstock. but it has been a lot of fun customizing it. How much was the one in the store? new/used case/no case?, just curious I have gotten no response on my e-bay auction for mine. Did get 1 offer for a $100 dollars, free shipping. I think by the time I was done with fees and shipping I might actually lose money on that deal.

It was new clearance stock priced at $599. They aren't really that popular, but it's not a playability or quality issue. Just not many people have played the good LE models. Another awesome Peavey guitar is the Vandenberg. That is another axe I'll grab when I find a hardtail neckthru model.
Can you PM me your asking price please?

Oh yeah and this thread is mega old. That's awesome though. Power of the almighty search engine.

One of the best guitars I ever bought (I got mine last month & I love it)! I player Hamers normally (US hand-made w/Floyds). This is the 1st Floydless guitar I owned for over 20 years. I also had the EX (in red) w/Floyd but sold it. Peavey imports are vastly under-rated IMO (I been playing 30 years & have owned everything & this stands up to anything I ever owned). I am biased tho = I love Explorers...

Here's my rig: Randall RM150 (MosFet with 12AX7 in the pre-amp), JC333 400w 4x12, EH Metal Muff (that's all I need)...
