My Wife got me a sweet anniversary present, and it showed up today. I have wanted one of these amber quilt top models ever since Van Halen released the video for Not Enough. I have been obsessed with that guitar since seeing that video. Quilt tops ain’t exactly easy to get since they are rare as fuck, so i never gave much thought to owning one. Anyways I found this one, and after checking with Jim DeCola about it, he verified that it was indeed a real deal Peavey, and given the circumstances, and particular set of features, it is most likely an “Employee build” from “borrowed” parts   . I have always liked the whole Bonnie and Clyde outlaw theme, so this guitar fits the bill perfectly ! The reason Jim says it was made with “borrowed” parts, is because this particular wolfie has NO serial number whatsoever. It also doesn’t have the screw holes for the trem plate (which I prefer). I have several Wolfgang’s and this one plays and sounds better than all of them by far !

Congrats Bro,
That is a Sweet Fiddle right there!!!
It’s really hard to beat an early Peavey Wolfgang
for Killer playability & cutting tone.
I just picked up a Killer 98 Amber Flame Top
from our very own “Braciola”.
Dominick hooked it up Nice....I Love these
Guitars, Peavey knocked it out of the park
with The Wolfgang...Hard to Top something
so quality made.

Was re looking at the pics of your guit, man, it is crazy nice looking. Though the quilt tops where not top notch, mine is all over the place, not really any kind of pattern going on. But that's what makes them so special. IMO

I agree ! The quilt tops on the Peavey Wolfgang’s were so random that it adds to the character of the guitar. You can see consecutive serial numbers on the rocknrollweekend site, and they are still vastly different from one another
