I’ll probably have to have one of those….
the four transistors I bought to put in it cost me 80 bucks .... insane ..... Smallbear is well known for having legit Germanium parts ...
and you can't just go in and buy it all up ....... there's limits on all the " good " stuff ... so if I make more than one it won't be many ....
I have hoarded several NOS Germanium transistors for Real deal rangemaster clones ... I'm going to do a few of those too ...

Here’s my weird pedal idea . I love Koko boost v1. It has 2 different boosts you can use . But I always with I could blend the 2 boosts and use them at once. lol I actually bought 2 to do this

My next pedal is going to be a Horizon Devices Precision Drive.
Killer overdrve and tight gate all in one little box.
🤘 🍸
Or you could buy the demon fx version for like $30. Had them both. No difference whatsoever other than cost.

I've got a mad professor golden cello, delay + overdrive that's super fun to play.

I don't know how practical it is for the average player, I love it into a clean amp or a pretty good amount of dirt. Obviously it doesn't work great in super high gain applications.

I usually find Tubescreamers/clones and Klon clones to "sound like a pedal". They just have this midrangey thing that I really dont like. I've had several of each and just never use them anymore. So stacking two of them doesn't sound like something I'd want. One of the things I like about the Superdrive over a stock SD1 is that its not so focused in the mids.

But an ODR-1 with a Bass Cut doesn't sound 'pedally' to me. It sounds more natural...but too much bass without the bass cut control. So I don't know how it would stack but it seems it could help prevent too much focused mids.

didn't think of stacking a ODR with anything ... that will definitely end up in the idea pool .... my Superdrive also .... I'm going to do some experimenting this weekend with some combos I have ...
Preamp pedal with an SD 805.
what pre amp ?? an 800 kind of thing ?? I'll have my version of the Sunn Model T ready in a few weeks or so .... that's going to be a awesome one to stack with ... could do a Screamer into a Dr. Boogie too ... or something similar .

Whatever preamp you think gives the best thrash metal tones.

This is where my complaint on controlling the clean boost comes from..I love my koko v1 but sometimes I want that clean to push my overdrive and I find it a tad too thick.

Legit rangemaster would be sick. One side rangemaster the other a tape akai boost And call in the BLACKMORE or MOREBLACK for copyright reasons.. but double pedals are the shit. They just make sense.

Tube Screamer or whatever overdrive with adjustable bass cut.

High speed adjustable noise gate like a Zuul+ or REVV G8.

Seems about the only time I need a noise gate is with a overdrive. Being able to control how tight or loose the bass is I find very useful. Sometimes I want super tight. Other times I want a some bounce and more girth.

Noise gate needs the "key" and loop for some of the more noisy amps.

Not sure if practical to build as a double pedal. Maybe a compressor instead of a overdrive. Since both work best with a "key" or direct signal from the guitar.

I like the Horizon Devices Precision Drive. But wish the gate had more controls and could be used separate with a other overdrive.

They really sound the same ?
Some of the cheap pedals because of build quality don't last very long is the other issue.

I think the a killer fuzz paired with a vibe would be the cats ass. I will PayPal you a deposit right now on that my cracker ….

Yes. No difference. One of my buddies used a demon fx OD on several tours with no problems. I have several and while my old SD1 is always on the board and gets most of the love , I’ve never had one of the knockoffs quit working.
