Any reports on how the box works with your rig? Suggestions for future "problem solving" gadgets?
Hey Bruce, mine showed up today. First let me say this is a terrific device. I have mentioned before that I have a penchant for using oddball effects units in my loop. Two of my favorites are the old Yamaha DG Stomp and the Vox Tone Lab, both are pedal level type units with amp modeling, which I defeat. I love them both for various reasons, mainly speaking towards the qualities of the Vox Tone Lab stuff, they have EXCELLENT delay models, modulated, analog, everything you'd want. Levels were always a problem and I discontinued use of both because of the effects loop compatibility issues. Used the Ebtech but it was too dull sounding. I hooked up the new box tonight and first I tried out a cheap little $59 Visual Sound delay pedal, (the Garage Series). Worked like a charm, and even though it is not a spectacular delay, I noticed even when I hit the footswitch to turn the delay pedal off, the clarity and brightness had been returned to the amp, even in comparison to the line level rack unit I was using currently (Digitech GSP1100). Next I tried the Vox and it was beautiful. I had to set the levels a little different, but with a modulated delay, Bassman channel B, driven by a Rock Box Boiling Point the tone was just unearthly good. Tons of high end clarity, sparkle, shimmer, mid-range punch and low end punch! Heavenly!!! I am so happy with this new device and ecstatic to be using the Vox again because it just has such cool stuff in there, seriously some of the best delays I've heard. Really happy.
NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL ... total winner! Suggestions? I would not mind if it had an input LED level indicator. Adjusting the send level "until the distortion disappears" works fine, but a visual overload indicator would be top notch and pretty handy. If you were going to market the product I would paint it black. Oh and the glowing knobs were a very nice touch. If you would have given me this to try out and then asked me what I'd pay for it, I'd have to say, I would be willing shell out $250 for it. Worth every penny of the extremely fair price of $150 I paid for it. Congratulations on a very crafty solution to our needs
