very comparable to the guitar gear hike. During Covid there was a larger firearms demand from the public and there was not merchandise to fulfill that demand. Many dealers marked items up on their own because they could. After a while manufacturers raised their prices dramatically due to inflation and supply chain issues. The equivalent iic+ example would be a knights armament sr-25. Before Covid I used to see them at 4k new sitting for months and thought that was a bit overpriced. Now, even if you can find them, the markup from dealers is generally significantly higher and private sellers list them used for 8k.
