I actually just picked up a schmidt today!....But I think im taking the road less traveled than the few before( who like the amp for rocking/blues etc)....I am looking to mate it w/ my custom shop Badcat and Shiva for pop/rock and modern hot country tones. :)

Talk to me about it man.......how do you like it?

are you in the US? if so I have a VH4 I'd like to trade with you for the Schmidt if you feel like selling/trading it later on :)

Its arriving in a day or two..Im very familiar w/ the vh4--theres one in my avatar hangin out w/ my rear and front loads...Ill say this, I love the Einey-really great amp;but Ive found most every tone it has can be dialed in on the vh4 too..or somewhat anyway..(thats subjective of course), but the vh4 is just a beast of an amp..I actually want to use the schmidt for country rock and pop rock...im hoping it will do the trick.. :)

if you want to sell it after you get it, hit me up, maybe I could buy it from you. (in case you want to, lets hope not and you feel happy with it)

I got my schmidt yesterday and Im really enjoying ch 2 and 3!..1 is nice too, but I cant get the reverb to work on it..Its not that big of a deal,ch 2 and 3 is where im living anyways. The reverb works fine on 2 and 3, so Peter, if youre reading this,is there anything I can check on it before I'd send it to someone for service?....

c'mon man you just got a Schmidt and that's all you're going to say?!

open up a new thread and write a review right now! :D

talk to me about channel 1, how does it compare to your other Diezels and other amps you've owned

Well, I can say after owning all the Diezels, this little amp smokes just like all the others...Id love to hear it w/ 84's, but for that i'd have to install yellow jackets first...I'm holding off on a new thread at least till I get the no reverb in ch 1 issue straightend out...The tube layout chart on the Diezel website is for all the other amps except that one....Peter definitely captured some great new tones w/ the schmidt that is not really in the other amps( I can line them all up w/ my lehle switchers and demo them all together)..... Its probably closest to the Einy, but nails the class a chime/ great string to string definition/nice reverb( on 2&3)/easy to get it cranked/...( my buddy-"hard n heavy" is demoing it now) Im sure he may put some kind of thread up about it too....I would like to see these showing up on the modern country/pop/rock stages,,,,,I love it- the Schmidt's a winner! ....

Maybe try 6v6's. They are similar in character to the EL84's, just less woolly and chimey.

Looking forward to the threads.
