So, the food stamps version of Joe BossaNova?
More like the canadian version of Joe BossaNova.

Joe Bonermaster at least does Eric Johnson cascading pentatonics and skip fives and legitimately difficult licks

This dude is literally just doing like the Kirk Hammett wew diddly wew diddly hammer-on/pull off licks we all learned in high school, so I'm a little baffled by accusations of "shredding"

He's recorded and toured with some big names and done pretty well on his own but he's def not a blues guy in my mind. I guess I have strong distinctions between blues and blues-rock and don't see the two as very similar other than some shared improvised lines.
He ain’t no Blind Melon Chitlin, nowaddamean ?

OK the BossaNova comment got a chuckle but then it reminded me of a REAL guitar player. That right hand! Deadly! @braintheory might tell me he lacks true gypsy soul but I don't care. He's the dude that broke my Gypsy Jazz cherry so he'll always be special to me.

Well, the video is only 7 minutes long.

It's not just the song, I mean it when I say it reminds me of a Kirk Hammett "Kill em All" solo lol

Is there a better song to check out that shows his stuff a bit better?

I've only recently started listening to him. This one is pretty cool.

Jeff Healey discovered him and then made him a member of his band.

A few seconds of fast noodling followed by 12 minutes of a nice slow groove chock full of beautiful instrumental guitar.

Dave Friedman loves his playing and I can see why!

Heard the name but until today had not seen anything by him.
I like his energy and showmanship...good entertainer...kinda reminds a bit of Mr Saraceno.

saw him with a bunch of forumites here during a NAMM week show open for paul gilbert at the viper room.

he was really cutting loose in a SRV+ Gary Moore style, and his tone in the room was outstanding! think it was a cranked super, fuchs, and voxy looking thing—cougar?

never seen this dude, not sure what i think watching these vids. like he dosent suck, i can understand dudes digging him, but hes kind of eh at the same time?? like olive garden isnt the best, but the endless breadsticks are kind of nice and it will do every so often?

The dude sure can play and I can hear the Hendrix and SRV influences (both of which I love)…but it’s very ‘bull in a china shop’ to me. It’s like he’s playing everything at Voodoo Child - Slight Return intensity. We need a little Wind Cries Mary element in there.
Exactly this; he's obviously a great player and very passionate, but when it's so intense ALL the time it becomes a numbing to me.
