So, the food stamps version of Joe BossaNova?
More like the canadian version of Joe BossaNova.
He ain’t no Blind Melon Chitlin, nowaddamean ?He's recorded and toured with some big names and done pretty well on his own but he's def not a blues guy in my mind. I guess I have strong distinctions between blues and blues-rock and don't see the two as very similar other than some shared improvised lines.
I can't do the three a side HS with a strat
I'm surprised at all the love for his playing on this, he's not exactly showing a ton of range

Well, the video is only 7 minutes long.
Is there a better song to check out that shows his stuff a bit better?
Exactly this; he's obviously a great player and very passionate, but when it's so intense ALL the time it becomes a numbing to me.The dude sure can play and I can hear the Hendrix and SRV influences (both of which I love)…but it’s very ‘bull in a china shop’ to me. It’s like he’s playing everything at Voodoo Child - Slight Return intensity. We need a little Wind Cries Mary element in there.
