They both sound great to me. As far as the VH tone, that sound has more growl than Eddie's did and a different bite on the top end, in my opinion. A bit more modern, if you will.

But both would work killer I think, so let's hear that with drums and bass. :)

I wasn't going for Eddie's tone...I was just jammin' :D
But if you play an Eddie riff...you gotta sound like him...I know...that riff was just the first thing that popped in my head. :D

I'm gonna stick with the 808 and time based effects are in the loop.
I've also picked up a V30 cab...so I'm switching form greenbacks (in this clip) to V30's...better bite with this amp.

#1 for me,
clearer and brighter.
though the paln mutes with #2 sounded better.

Agreed....the extra gain and hair with the 2nd pedal does make muting sound nice. ;)

So how's the TS different from the OD808?
They seem to sound the same...I think the Ibanez rolls off less bass, but that could just be in my head...I didn't have them both at the same time to really compare.
I do like the Ibanez construction better for the switch and overall shape.

I bet they sound pretty well identical...I just had to warm up to it. ;)

I'd like to try them back-to-back. Never did try that RI TS... :D
I've heard good things about them.

If you can borrow one from a local store to try out that'd be interesting to hear your verdict...although I think they sound the same...they both have that famous, magic chip in them. ;)

...and it seems people all want to get there pedal modded...they sound great, I don't get it. :?

Maybe I should go over to GC and "buy" one ;)
Then return it... :D

Yeah... I dunno about the whole pedal modding thing... But I'm very disenfranchised with pedals... :D Seems like a huge scam to me.

Do it!

There's a music store near me that has a 30 day 'no questions asked' return policy...I could use this 808 and 1x12 V30 cab that I bought for a month then return it....but I don't think I will. ;)

I just may! :D

If I'm not mistaken... Maxon made the original TS. So they HAVE to be really really close.

I voted pedal 1. Then I scrolled down and saw what the pedals were. I dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Ya, they were just rebranded...I wonder if this new Ibanez 808 ever saw the Maxon factory. :?

Well from what I read, no... It's made by someone else. When Maxon started selling their own pedals, Ibanez went to someone else... Conflict of interests.

The Maxon company must be run by a woman...wanted to have their cake and eat it to. ;)

OK I just changed strings and I switched from Fenders to D'Addarios.
The D'Addarios sound a little raspy compared to the Fenders. :?
I can hear a bigger difference between these strings than the two pedals.

Am I getting to anal about my tone or what? :D
