just out of curiosity, have you tried any of the Fishman sets? I didn't have any particular interest in getting them, but got a couple guitars that came with them already. They can definitely bring the heat. I swapped out the moderns on an EII with the Adler set, and I really dig them.

Fair question. My honest answer is that I just don’t like them. They sound off to my ears. They seem to record oddly and I just prefer EMG. I try not to overcomplicate or go down rabbit holes.

Same, I really don't care for the Fishman stuff in les pauls at all.

It can sound really great in other types of guitars, especially for more modern stuff, but if you want that type of sound EMGs just seem to work way better in LPs

can't argue, I've only heard them in ESP, and I do love me some EMG in an LP

I'm generally a asymmetric wound Alnico 5 (Godwood, Icebucker, Roxy, SH14) guy with Les Paul pickups

But there's no denying emgs in an LP is a sound and vibe that works

I have a late 70s cherryburst deluxe that I had the bridge pickup rout enlarged and installed a Duncan Distortion in it. Love it. I’d be happy with an old Dirty Fingers or a 500T as well.

I’m going to keep my 76 Cherry burst and instead slap some new pickups in it.

I’ve done some research and the T-Tops in it are in it only for value.

I have two other LPCs that have an 81/85 and 498/496R to give an idea.

I want to throw some pickups that have some heat in it.

I’m not a fan of Aldrich’s as I find they make every guitar sound the same they’re in.

I’m thinking about buying the new JB bar style, disassembling them, and putting ceramic bars in it to convert it to a Duncan distortion bar. A lot of work but I believe I’d want to start running a Duncan distortion again.

I just sold my LPC with a JB and I’ve learned I fucking hate that pickup even with blind tests.

What dimarzios or SDs or other pickups would you do?
I'll take the stock pickups off your hands if you want. I had a '78 LPC that I miss, I could throw yours into my Epiphone to try and approximate. DM me if interested

I plan to keep them for value reasons. It is still a Norlin and people expect to get them should I ever sell it. I appreciate reaching out though.
