Poison was the best 80s band

Same god that led people on a 40 year wander through the desert, so no surprise there.

Well at least he revealed himself sooner on that track lol. Could have used a little guidance from the devil sitting on his shoulder on those fills.

As for Poison, they had some solid tunes. Suffered from some strange production choices though. Always felt the guitars sounded cardboard in the mids and the drums were horrible. Brett and Bobby did fine though. I saw them live on the Open up and say Aaaaaahhhh tour. They were pretty good. C.C was a total mess and Rikki was being an idiot but Brett delivered and there were tons of hot girls there. I think I must have been 13 or something it didn't take much for me to get wood. It would not have been smart to wear jogging pants to that show.

You know sadly in retrospect as mediocre and cliche as hey were they are 100x better than 95% of the current corporate music products today. The made to sell music here today gone tomorrow stuff.

That’s fucking sad.

Man, I don't know about that...CC has that same 'frenetic' vibrato that KH has...it's pretty noticeable...Joey Allen's is far different, more smooth and just plain better. Can't think of any solos on the first 3 albums that remotely resembled CC.
Jimmy Page has a very similar vibrato. I call it a “nervous” vibrato. Seems a bit uncontrolled. (Not saying it’s bad!)

I actually like a few of their songs and CC is an underrated player. They did come up with a few hit songs and some of the solos were perfect for the songs. I saw them headline in 2003 with Cinderella and Dokken and it was a fun show. But Cinderella absolutely stole the show and gave one of the best live performances I have ever seen. The power went out on stage at the outdoor amphitheater in San Diego after Dokken with Reb Beach on guitar had finished. The crowd waited for about an hour and a half and was getting pissed and ready to leave, when all the sudden we heard the intro to Night Songs LOUD, the stage lights went on and the curtain dropped. Cinderella played and just CRUSHED three songs in full on badass pure ROCKSTAR style before saying a word to the crowd. And all was forgiven and forgotten about the long wait.

Also saw Cinderella around the time both were peaking and you are right, one of the best shows I have been to in my youth. Total pros, Keifer knows how to get it done. I will also give a nod to Skid Row. They use to bring the heat live too.

Never cared for them, didn't like the tone nor the shallowness of their music. With that said, my hard rock cover band (no Poison) shared a venue with a Poison tribute band once. We did Tool, Iron Maiden, Rage, stuff like that. When we played everyone basically sat there with their arms crossed. When the Poison band played the dance floor was packed with girls all night long.

cant believe chicks werent packing the dance floor for maiden and tool. we really live in some fucked up times
