Beautiful collection. I have the same 89' Jem DYV. It's a great guitar and has the thinnest neck I've ever come across on an electric guitar. Total shreddy Krueger!
Stunning Dean collection. Real quality there man!

I actually got to play thru that rack when I lived in Hawaii and used to go visit the boys at the shop. Trust me everyone, it sounds as good as it looks. :)

Oh yeah, that neck was thin for sure. Loved that guitar. I was 17 at the time and that was my first "real" guitar. Went to pick it up after like 8 months of waiting. I brang all my friends with me, we where like 12. What a trip.

Thank Dimebag for getting me into those. Ever since I saw him with one on the cover of Cowboys from hell, that was it. No internet in those days, I worked hard to get some of these.

I have tons and tons of gear from the very early 90s, but I think the only two things I have from the 80s is a Soloist (which I apparently have photographed all of one time since I bought it 13 years ago) and a Yamaha SPX90. The Soloist is super 80s, though, it´s bright orange with gold pearl even if it looks kinda red in the pic.

I´ve had some other stuff, including a Rivera TBR1 head from 1987 and a Charvel 750XL from 1988... probably some more rack FX as well... but that´s all gone now.

Wasn't mine, but I spent a lot of time with it. This is one of the very first ones.

I wish I still had my rig from then, but ive moved on...and on....and on.......and, well you get the picture. My main rig for years was a Hiwatt custom 100 full stack and a Randall RG80es. That Hiwatt had a raw in your face crunch that couldnt be beat. Badass amp. The Randall, with a TS10 in front and a DDL in the loop was a great lead amp. Think Tooth and Nail.

Meh... I rocked a rack rig with an ADA MP1 in it for many of those years. I thought it sounded pretty good for the era. But I wouldn't trade my Friedman for all the 80s gear in the world.

Still got my Quadraverb GT banging around in a box somewhere. May it stay there!

Here's my KISS (Keep It Simple S.....) rig. The Rockman Distortion Generator has a mode called auto clean. You can use the volume knob on your guitar, or a volume pedal to dial in the distortion level. The Phase notcher button allows you to switch between a 112 and 412 speaker sound. That single button foot pedal controls the boost. It's a complete amplifier simulation, so you run it's line out straight to the board.
