Know of someone selling a 1969 50w head with straight and slant basket weaves with greenbacks from 1970.supposedly all original. Fairly mint.
Don't need, have no room, would have to sell 1 of the the cabs, my splawn cab and my triple rec and maybe one of my Monomyth Superleads (93 and 74). Def more than I want to spend, but wifes OK with it.

Don't want to spend the $$$, but will if worth it Even have to rent a truck to get it.

Or just spend 1200 on a ceriatone plexi all access and keep all my shit 😁

What would you think it's worth with info I have?

That's true. Can't seeing it going down in price.

The head maybe $7-8k and each cab around $2.5k? I haven't followed old Marshall's on Reverb lately, but that's be my quick guess assuming they're all in good working condition. Maybe less for the head if it's not Lead spec.

Buy it 100%. Just verify the originality etc…

That’s a great investment. And that amp with a PS100 will do things your other amps won’t.

If they’re all original pieces anything less than $10k for everything is a killer deal imo.

Cabs alone can go for $4k if they’re clean.

That setup could be worth more like $12-13k depending on condition.

JFC.

These guys are right tho. It's a solid investment.

But, fuck. This shit has gotten ridiculous.

edit: I remember when '69 Chargers were to be junked.

Guys are nuts. I can’t believe non plexi panel metal panel 1959s are going for 7k. I guess plexi panel mint is 10k?

I’d have to think it’s worth around $15,000. Having them all together is what adds to the price. No hunting for this cab or that head. They all belong together. Those cabinets along are $4k these days in mint condition… and with the desirable basketweave cloth!! Mint pre-rola speakers are selling for $500 each. If the head is mint I’d have to think it’s worth $5-6k.

I’d sell my 67 Plexi for $10k. :D

I've been learning as much as I can about real Plexi vs 69 metal face, vs early 70s JMP etc....With the prices these days, if you can score a super clean full stack like this (as long as the cabs are legit; gotta take a look inside and make sure no recones, re wired, original casters etc) will easily fetch 10K for a good deal, and as Dave said maybe 15K for a verified legit mint full stack. But you also have to be aware of places like Music Ground in England for instance, that would take a metal panel JMP and put a newly wired dark brown board in, with replaced metal panels for newer 'fake' plexi panels to double/triple the price. So if you can get good circuit board shots, and see the insides of each cab to verify each cabs originality I would do that just to be safe...
I recently traded with a forum member for a 'players plus' grade (my own description lol) 67 JMP 50. Original transformers(key for me), but had been previously modded so a few holes in the back panel...but restored with correct value Mustards etc. Just a fantastic amp that has the sag missing from my guided missile 72 SuperTremolo; more 3D/Organic if you will..special amp for sure. Both of my vintage Marshalls scream through my 72 Pulsonic cab..there is something 'extra' going on with those pre Rolas, for sure.
Good luck!

Honestly, I’d get the Ceriatone but probably a dedicated model that is the era I want vs. the all access. Depends, are you an investor or just a player? To some people 10k plus is a pipe dream to others it’s just Tuesday.

Pre-Rolas are definitely something special. I've got an original late 68 or early 69 basketweave in amazing condition. It sounds so good. I'd love to get ahold of a 50w Plexi/ early metal panel. I've only had 100's.

Is the amp for sale in original post a plexi or metal panel? I was assuming Plexi, but they made them both ways in 69'.

It's a metal panel, not a plexi.

Metal panel drops a bit from Plexi value..I’d say 5K for the amp? Vs 6-7 for a true Plexi from 69. The older the more valuable when it comes to Marshalls. Still, each cab if original is worth near the amp value if all original.

I agree on this.
yeah, earlier I was assuming it was a Plexi panel.

Personally, I'd just buy a Ceriatone though I understand it's a bit of a bitter taste.

I've owned a '69 Plexi panel super lead and it sounded fine, but it's one of those things where I was afraid to play it. It's frighteningly loud without some type of load box or attenuator, but even still you're riding the amp hard.

That's all fine except when the thing is worth like $7-8k except suddenly more like $2-3k if a transformer lets go. And I'm a nervous wreck when playing old G12Ms. Again: they are like $500 a piece except if a voice coil goes and has to be redone, now it's like a $50 speaker and won't sound the same.

Just not worth it to me to deal with. As an investment/art piece, maybe? But there may be more viable choices for that.

I hear ya..but I punish my 72 cab with my 72 Trem early and often…of course with another cab as well. Holds up fine. As long as I’m running 2 cabs I don’t worry about it. Plus, it’s only for a few minutes each time; if I gigged with it I’d probably search out a Classic or AX cab and use that just to be safe.
Yes, this stuff is collectible but I’m a player not a collector; they will be played LOUDLY.

That ended up being the problem for me: I bought "lesser" gear to "save" the vintage stuff, but then the vintage stuff just sat even more.

So I just sold it and use stuff that I can more easily find and replace as needed. My only regret is holy shit I wish I'd kept all this type of stuff until the last few months. It's dreadful looking around at these prices and remembering selling all these amps for literally 1/4 or 1/3 of what people want now.
