problem with my slp aldrich...

does anyone here own slp plexi reissue modded for the aldrich mod ?

I need to know how the push pull pot loudness 2 the preamp gain is meant to function

as long as Ive owned the aldrich the preamp push pull has worked like this

pull the knob and it activates a gain boost and the amp also gets noisier
push the knob back in and its quieter +less gain , well.....

when I turned the amp on this morning it made a loud humming sound and loud popping noises

so I turned it off ,when I turned it back on the preamp push pull was not working the same ?

so.... does anyone here own an slp modded for the aldrich mod so they can tell me how the preamp push pull pot works on theirs as its crossed my mind I could of lost the plot and got mixed up as to how the push pull works

I would like to hear from someone else who owns one of these just so I can be sure its not my imagination , I play this amp every day and I cant see how I would have got it wrong as to how it worked originally

My Aldrich has a three way switch instead of a push/pull....but my HG Jose and Ocean Plus both have push/pull functions.

The bad news is that Mark makes this switch and goops it, so he would have make you one.....I really hope it's just a bad tube as this is the worst case scenario for a Cameron amp owner.

I would ask Dave Friedman for expertise/guidance as well.

Hi, I just found a powertube is lighting up but not showing any bias whatsoever
so the powertube has blown ,that is the noise it made....
but.... I just replaced it with a powertube that is working and the push pull pot is still faulty ,so I think the powertube has taken out a component when it failed

there is a guy in the uk who can look at this for me so its not all doom

Normally the power-tube will take the screen resistor with it when it fails.

its a $2000 amplifier. not a $120,000 house. he was joking - chill dude.

it has been suggested once already to check the preamp tubes. if you dont know what these are then obviously you have no business tooling around inside an amplifier. thus you should consider sending it to someone that can repair it for you.

consider sending it to dave friedman to get the repairs and/or a full retube and bias.

Mark makes/mods great amps...never said anything to the contrary.
