Or just get a 2203 and crank (almost) everything to 10 so that it's a non-issue.
This is the Best advice. When i was gigging, i had a note book that all my settings for every amp i owned. After a while i could do my settings from memory.Just write down the settings…
Exactly what I do.Snap a pic. Every time I nail a tone that I am digging I snap a pic of the guitar next to the amp with the settings visible and any pedals used.

VL series designed by Lee Jackson, the key only prevented the amp from being turned on if it was locked in the off position, it didn’t lock the knobs though.Ampeg used to make an amp with a key to lock the knobs , I dont remember the model.
