Hello everyone I was looking at a second-hand 2017 PRS CE 24 Sweetwater Exclusive Blackout, but I'm not sure, since the only PRS I've ever owned was a early (all stock) PRS Tremonti SE and I sold that guitar years ago.

Currently, my primary guitar I've been using at practices in the hard rock/classic rock covers band I'm in is my HEAVY! Epiphone Les Paul Custom Korean with SD JB/Jazz Hot Rodded pickup set and I have coil taps for both pickups. You'll see the other guitars in my Sig which have not been played for some time. I want to have a Single Coil and a Humbucker for more versatility. My usual genre ranges from Classic Rock/Hard Rock Metal.

The PRS is Mahogany with maple top, 85/15 pickups, push pull for single coil, PRS tremolo. Bolt on neck.

Thank you!

The new CEs are good guitars. Some PRS aficionados don't like them because of the SE hardware and flatter body, but lots also say it makes little difference like the satin neck an 85/15 pups. The bridge will be much lower output than your JB though, so that is something to consider. (Pups are easily replaced though)

I have a new one on the delivery truck to be at my house later today. I did a good bit of research before I bought and the only real differences that make it "cheaper" than the Core model that I could find was:
- The tremolo is PRS designed, but made in Korea
- It is bolt-on vs set-neck
- a few minor details like the back plate cover is not sunk in and flush with the guitar

Other than that, it's made in the USA and follows all the same standards.

It seems like a great deal to me. I'll have a better idea later today.

I've had one for a little over a year and it slays. I also have a CU22 and CU 24 to compare it to. It definitely feels a bit cheaper in my opinion than the standard line, but build quality is still rock solid. And it sounds absolutely massive. Much, much punchier and tighter than my other PRS's. I chalk it up to the bolt on but I'm no expert. I played a CE24 at guitar center before I bought the blacked out one form Sweetwater and it sounded the same FWIW. Of course, this is all just my opinion but I say go for it.......

Also, FWIW, I paid about $1600 new for mine at Sweetwater just for reference.

Good luck!

One other difference that makes it priced less is the body is flatter with less of an arch than the other PRS's. For me though, this actually is a plus. I don't care for arched bodied guitars. All my other guitars are flat.
