I've got my eye on a Custom 24 with an original Floyd Rose, so just curious if any owners or players of this instrument could chime in? It's also got the "metal" pickups, which I have no experience with. The specs are pretty hot. The PRS core tremolo is a fine piece of hardware, (as is the stoptail bridge) so does the Floyd retain the mojo? The ebony board is a sweet addition too. Thanks!

Fantastic guitars! I have had 2 of them. One was used, one new.
The pickups are solid sounding as well.
Sold them as GAS struck for other things. They played nicely, looked great but in the end, I always prefer a strat with floyd.

Would I get one again? If the right offer came up, probably. Really nicely built guitars.

Just picked up a 24 Floyd a little over a year ago. Easily the best PRS I've ever owned. I wasn't sure I'd bond with the pattern thin neck, but it's got just enough of a "C" shape to it that it's incredibly comfortable. I typically gravitate to a slightly fatter neck profile (50's-ish like on my LP Custom and Hamer Std) but I actually prefer the PRS neck to just about anything I have now.

Not sure what other's think of the \m/ pickups, you don't hear much about them, but I love them to death. Been gigging for decades and am constantly rolling through pickups trying to find that "it" factor. I bonded with the \m/ immediately. They rank way up there with some of my favorite pickups I've ever had. The specs are pretty hot, but they're super tight and clear at full volume (a-mazing for metal of course) and backed off just slightly, give off a hot Tele-ish vibe. Really versatile, I cover a really wide variety of music with them and with that guitar.

Of everything I have, LPs, Strats, Charvel, Suhr. My 24 Floyd is my desert island guitar. Good luck man!

great guitars. I didn't used to be a prs fan, but after owning one of those (prs 24 Floyd) and now owning a 408, that has changed, awesome guitars, those two at least. the custom 24 Floyd I had was equipped with a killer ebony fretboard, and the metal pickups sounded good.

Thanks so much for the input! This is turning out to be a very tough decision for me. I own an EVH hardtail with fine tuners, so I thought blocking a Floyded guitar would be the same, and allow me to get certain specs from a PRS (ie ebony board). But I'm not sure it makes sense to buy the Floyd if I'm just going to block it. I'm thinking I should just wait for the right guitar, or go custom. Thanks again.

I just purchased a limited edition Martin Music 2010 Custom 24 with Floyd. i like the specs better than the new ones. 59/09 pickups. Regular neck profile, sweet switch. Curly mahogany neck instead of the maple.
Should arrive in a few days

The problem is buying new PRS is not
Flexiable at all to get ebony board on a stop tail youhave to but the artist package
And likely pay for a bunch of things you dont want lol
Gold hardware green abalone head stock logo
Add to that a wait time of about a year
