PSA Huge Price Drops on Marshall amps at Sweetwater

Marshall's MO has always been to overprice based on their brand so, unless they're changing their business model, this is probably one of the few times you'll see these prices new.

A demo model at $1800-ish is not a bad deal. Even if you hate it, you don't lose that much when you sell it. At least, compared to most amps where you lose 50% of the value as soon as the return period is over.

PS Let's go ahead and start the rumors of a new amp line, to replace the JVM (which has been out since 2007)

I like your style. It’s definitely time

Also, some nerdy info…there is a huge concern in the retail world right now about being over inventoried after the holidays. Sales and heavy discounts are starting sooner and will be going for longer to try to combat this. We will be seeing a lot of great deals on new stock for sure.

$1000 bucks off tells me it was wildly overpriced for the market to begin and now isn't selling well so what kind of money am I really saving?
I'm a JVM410 fan, it's my main amp and has been for years but I couldn't agree more.

Hell even with the grand off it's still too much. To me that $1899 area is perfect for that amp regardless of economy or whatever factors shot gear prices up.

They rehired Santiago to do a new amp . The guy who made jvm . I’ve heard it’s happening

Hopefully there will be a new price structure for everything that is inflated.

Yes, let the rumors fly!
But for real, it would be cool to see a new Marshall, although I'm not sure what more they can do. 4 channels, all assignable to a 1/4 cable footswitch (amazing tbh), reverb, dual masters, midi. I guess lower the noise floor and add some attenuator/IR/cabsim thingy or whatever digital fluff feature is cheapest to implement with the highest profit margin. Ditch OD2 for a properly useful modern boutique-metal style high gain channel (no offense to OD2 enjoyers, I hate it). OD1 on my JVM sounds nearly identical to my TSL in an A/B test, which I like, so keep that channel but maybe tweak the gain range to be more usable at higher settings without a boost.

The aesthetic is already decided, so that's easy. Maybe add some spinoff models and make them more accessible - we've seen how the EVH Stealth and EL34 versions sell very well, Friedman seems to have many variations of the BE/HBE etc stuff. I mean, imagine if you could just go buy a JVM410HJS right now - not sure why they don't cash in on that stuff.

What I mean is, yes JVM410H is overpriced. So for the JCM2020 series or whatever they call it, have the base model amps (2 channel and 4 channel) and then also have a "blacked out" version with some slightly different circuit values, then a classic version with slightly different circuit values, etc and add $500 to the price of those. People will pay it as long as your starting price is reasonable (i.e. not $3k). But then again, I don't know the cost to keep making the amps in the UK, which they are kind of restricted to. Fender was able to start totally fresh with no preconceptions, since all EVH amps are made in Mexico, so there was never any "oh, the old US made ones were better" attutide to overcome.

That's really interesting. I should've saved up some cash since it feels like a good time to buy some stuff. I got overzealous with that 10% GC used sale. And it's a bad time to sell stuff, not necessarily because of the economy as a whole, but usually guitar/amp sales drop this time of year because people aren't buying luxury items for themselves for a while. I definitely need to move some stuff, maybe starting next year's tax return season...

I liked my jvm410 I just couldn’t get to open up and roar like my other Marshall’s.

I had a JVM for about a month ...... a few of the modes / channels were almost good enough for me to keep it .... but .... just not quite " there "

I can't find any Studio JCM800's are they out of stock on those ?? cause one of those for a Grand and then maybe 15 dollars in parts and you can have a 20 watt JEL ....
