I am thinking of going rack eq for the loop of my Fryette Power Station 100. Now, it has adjustments for level, so i don't think compatability should be an issue. Any suggestions? i am thinking graphic since i run my empress para eq before my amp and love what it does to my guitar before it gets boosted. I have included the shittiest picture i could possibly take of the back of the ps 100 just to show that it has a hi lo level for the fx loop. I was looking at this eq: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... -equalizer

DBX eq's are really good, can't go wrong with them, I had a couple for years, solid, worked great. That is the stereo version you linked, if you don't need stereo the single 1U version is the same, just single channel. You can find these used on Craigslist, Music Go Round and Pawn shops really cheap sometimes too.

I have an extra I will let go for a good price. I don't have a picture now, but send me a PM if you are interested.

I had a DBX 2-channel EQ in my W/D/W set-up for a while.

It was useful for very minor room EQ tweaks of the two wet cabs, which had different speakers in each.

Keep an eye out for a Sine Effect Megapara; these are killer and compact

I’d love to try one as well. I love that it’s both a graphic and parametric.
Ten bands before the preamp and the other ten bands in the loop. Control over the frequency centers.
Limiter, noise gate, tuner.
It just seems very practical. Real well thought out.
I'm getting one....I'm just trying to hold off till I move back to Las Vegas.

Just got one. It sounds like......

Absolute heaven. Seriously. Sounds analog, organic, amazing!!!!!! Had a GE-7 since 1989. Switched to an MXR 10 at some point, liked it better. Then used an Empress Paraeq for a couple years. Awesome EQ.

I then tried the Boss EQ 200...... sold it within a week. Great design, interface. But sounds cold, sterile and very digital. Did not like it, at all. Went back to the Empress. Till they announced the EQ 2. Sold the Empress to get the SA. Glad i did. Way more versatile. And i think it might even sound more analog!!!!! Even it being digital. Hard to believe but true.

I have two rigs. One still has the MXR silver. That one stays put. The MXR is damn good. I don’t need all the features of the SA in this rig.

Lol. I think you ll keep it!!!!!

Rack EQs are great but parametric EQs especially can be a Pandora's Box when it comes to tone tweaking.

Tomorrow I'm trying mine out again (Alto 5-band parametric EQ) in the effects loop of my MarkIV, to try to get a raunchy and dare I say squawky Rockman sound ala Giorgio Moroder Scarface guitar sound, as a contrast to the "scooped V" on the in-built graphic EQ. I'll start by trying to match the graphic EQ's sliders, then go wilder than Gina Montana's long 'n' curlies...

Source Audio makes some killer stuff. I have the Gemini Chorus, which, strangely enough, I could use as an EQ pedal, lol. It has a Parametric EQ built in, so I could turn down the Chorus and only use EQ if I wanted.

Yeah i heard that before, people seem to like it as an EQ. Pretty cool trick.

I had a Nemesis delay and traded it for a Collider. Absolutely awesome pedal. Such lush reverbs.

Very high quality gear.

But the EQ2 is insane!!!!

I tried the original Source Audio EQ and it sounded good. The EQ 2 everyone says sounds better. I'm definitely going to try one.
