Racks still rule

Killer tones....
Ihave 2 old sde3000 too.
Do you have them linked via cv in/cv out to synchronize the modulation of both?

For sure, I started putting together my big rack maybe fifteen years ago and still use it every day, and I used some rack units here and there long before that too. I was lucky to do most of my serious shopping when this stuff wasn´t that expensive, however, I probably wouldn´t do exactly the same today.

Nice set up and great playing. I have yet to try the tc 2290. Right now I’m using my PCM80 and loving it again. My SDE 3000 rack doesn’t cut it for me. Sounds good but I lose something where the lexicon keeps it in.
I’ll try the 4x12 center but my normal is 1x12 Thiele cabs x2 and now a Marshall 1x12 center dry. Sounds huge for my purposes.

Nice 2290! I have never played the old rack version, but I got the 2290p today, and it was sounding great with my Synergy stereo setup tonight. I also have a SDE-3000D that sounds great.

I am liking these pedals because they are flexible and all that, and are also analog dry through. Seems like you cant get multi units anymore with analog dry through, and pulling in the mixer makes everything way more complicated.

Did TC ever confirm if the 2290P was Analog Dry Through?

Indeed, racks do still rule

Yep still assembling my rack.

Alesis quadraverb which I upgraded the EPROM on
Lexicon pcm81
D two rack mic pre which I plan to use with my cab mics
I want to get an H90 for midi harmonizer
Damage control timeline delay which @mentoneman you’re the reason I bought some 15 years ago 😂
I need a rack mixer for the lexicon
RJM effects gizmo
A few rack shelves

I want to run the timeline in parallel at all times. It’s tube buffered and has an all analog through mix of its own. I use it mainly for solo sauce which it does awesome for.

A good pair will never lose relevance! But massive racks tend to sag with age, so a bit of moderation never hurts!

it’s pretty crazy how much of this stuff costs today. a testament to how these boxes sound.

but my son uses a helix lt every weekend so his rack fits in a back pack and takes a minute to plug in his Duesy, two xlrs to the house and bingo.

hearing an actual EMT plate reverb is pretty special, but the only thing to my ear i’ve ever heard rival and honestly outperform the lexicon reverb is bricasti.
but i will alway still forever love lexi concert halls and the dynamic 360 things you can do with them in the 80.
i bet your rig sounds great!

It’s so easy to setup a stereo ping pong random delay that would take ages to setup in anything else. The pedal’s tube buffered analog mix output adds some warmth alongside the digital delay. It’s a killer pedal and I use it all the time. I also use it always on but mixed really low to add a stereo analog sound to cabs to make things come alive.

In recent videos it’s still boxed away, I haven’t integrated it into my rack yet. They do sound amazing!

the tube factor made that delay special. i’d love to see them make a new timeline with the tube buffer again including the improvements they’ve made on the digital i/o side.

I spoke to the lead developer of the pedal ages ago over email at strymon. They have done everything they can to distance themselves from tubes likely due to the safety and general public distaste for tube repair (or potential damage) to the unit if a tube shorts. They were very hesitant to tell me what brand of tube to replace in it for OEM sound (I didn’t want to damage it by putting a wrong tube in it). Even the brand and type they stated clearly they preferred I never say out loud which I will keep that promise. It’s really sad they shoved this unit under the table as much as they have but I understand their reasoning business wise. Tonally it’s the best sounding delay I’ve ever heard and rugged too. I think I got 8 years out of the original tubes before I replaced them. It only has the 2nd set in it over the course of many many years.
