RAN Guitars... Anyone have one?

I stumbled across these guys on Facebook about 6 months ago (www.ranguitars.com) and have grown extremely curious about them.

Just looking at pictures, the craftsmanship and fit and finish of the guitars they are putting out is incredible, but at the same time I know you can't judge a book by it's cover and at $1600usd price tag for a lower end model, I am not exactly willing to take a chance without hearing some opinions on them first.

If anyone here happens to have one, I would love to hear what you think and see some of your own pictures.

Jeff Waters of Annihilator was playing them for a while.. looks like has since switched back to Gibson/Epiphone because they did him up a signature flying V. He seemed to like the finish and feel at the time he was using them.
 
I read some stuff where they did not exactly have the greatest reviews back in 2010, but a lot can change so I am definitely looking for some more current testimonials.

I wonder how hard it would be to get in touch with Jeff haha :doh:
 
If you're searching the net you'll see that Ran years ago had some customer service issues and also questionable practices of making blatant knock offs BUT, and this is a big BUT, the last few years they have completely turned that around and have been turning out amazing gear and taking extremely well of their customers. A ton of guys over at Sevenstring.org love them to death.
 
You know, I didn't even think to try Sevenstring... I come here just because everyone is USUALLY pretty helpful lol

I've just owned off the shelf guitars for so long and built my own custom strats out of ebay parts, I want something really nice 100% for me for once. I'm really just a hobby player but I've always wanted my own personal 1 of a kind as I am sure most guitarists do. These guys really caught my eye with the way their designs and finishes look.
 
I doubt it makes sense (economically) for somebody in the US to order a guitar in Poland? Are RAN guitars better than any boutique guitar builder in the US? I seriously doubt that.
Maybe it's only me though... I also don't really get the hype about Mayonnes (sp?).

Well, I am mostly polish, so there is part of the allure I guess lol (Yes I know my name doesn't exactly say Pollak lol)

What US based options do I have that aren't going to run me $4500? I am open to ideas. Like I said I just want something to my specs, that is really nice and pretty much one of a kind.

But anyway the first name that comes to mind would be Gutierrez.

+1 for Gutierrez. Mine is my favorite player and best sounding of 6 custom builds. I have an "in" with a major manufacturer and they build me anything I want. They have made me some awesome stuff. But my Gutierrez blows them out of the water.

If you can get him to build you something, jump as soon as you can. Contact Juggernaut on this forum for more info.
