Randall Smith is on YouTube

I think his children helped him with this, all that's left is to upload an avatar and approve the account. I enjoyed every minute of these stories.

He comes across in videos much like sitting in the room with him. I have had a few conversations with him. I recognize some of the stories. He has some great ones still to come.

That part about the Rectifier sounding like a V8 just makes so much sense.

I met him at NAMM about 15 years ago, super nice guy. I will watch this YT video for sure.

So he was fired then, briefly mentioned it in his latest video. Still don't know what that really means but I think that's the first time he mentioned it.

Kind of questionable how Gibson is treating the brand right now. The way they abruptly "fired" Randy could've been handled better.

They also severed ties with Fluff over his reporting of what happened to Randy, which he removed after the post was active for ~30 minutes.

So you sack the Founder in a distasteful fashion and then boot an artist for briefly reporting it and then obliging your request to remove the post?

Gibson you can do better. Just remember who co-created the Rectifier Guide and the other guy who created the money press you're cashing in on.

I remember hearing about it but I don't remember seeing what Fluff actually posted/said. All I saw was a bunch of people saying fluff was just cashing in on clicks. Even if he was, it turns out, he wasn't wrong.

I've gotten to know a couple Mesa employees on a personal level. They're great people who truly care about their customers.

Employees like the above don't pop up out of nowhere. It takes the right company culture to develop/retain that kind of talent.

As for what happened to Fluff, that doesn't sit right with me. That dude has done more for the Rectifier community than most.

Yes jumping on the timing/severity of the issue wasn't good. A slap on the wrist & ear beating would have been the right way to handle it.

But to treat it as a hanging offense and cut ties? That's just stupid and further reinforces how poorly they treat/value their talent.

Was looking forward to one of the most knowledgable Rectifier fanboys doing a review of the Reissue, but now care less about the amp.
